It was painful to see her like this. All I could do was embrace her and let the torrent of her tears to soak through my shirt. I could feel her clench her fists, not knowing whether to be mad or to give up hope altogether. I could hear her silently screaming, suffocating with each breath she took holding onto her pride. I ran my fingers through her hair, time and time again, in an attempt to calm the silent war within her mind. My baby girl I was there was more I could do to soothe your pain.
"Baby... I am here," I cooed, "I'm here."
I whispered these words repeatedly stroking her hair, trying to calm down her frantic breaths. Snot and tears now soaking my black t-shirt. But she was my baby and I didn't care. She looked so broken-- tears formed in my waterlines watching her frail body break in front of me. Her fingers reached up grasping my shirt, she pulled herself up slowly looking up at me. Her eyes glazed and red, tears still pouring down her face. Her skin was pale like she had just seen a ghost. If love wasn't clouding my vision, I would be terrified by the look in her eyes.
"Jack," She choked out.
"Shh. I am here baby," I said calmly, pushing her wild hair out of her face.
"I love you," She cried out, her voice trembled.
I glance in her eyes and fell in love all over again. It wasn't the color of her eyes that were so breathtaking, as it was what was inside them. Smeared mascara lines and heavy eyelids. And bright. Oh, how bright they were, shining with the tears that had yet to fall in trickling lines, streaking through the smeared makeup on her face. The blue-gray of stormy skies that drowned you in the rain to come. I raised my hand slowly, wiping away some of the tears on her pale cheeks. She was the most beautiful creature I have ever laid eyes on. I rest my finger under chin, lifting her head up slightly.
"Darling, I love you too."
I pressed my lips against hers, kissing her ever so gently. She was my delicate daisy, and she deserved nothing other than being treated like she meant the world to me. I kissed her tenderly, never wanting this moment to end. She wrapped her arms around my neck pulling me closer towards her. She deepened the kiss, pressing herself against me. She pulled away slowly, her eyes losing me in a trance. Why was she so god damn beautiful. Her messy hazelnut curls were everywhere some soaked with tears stuck to the side of her face. Her expression changed quickly as she looked behind me. She looked mortified like she had just been caught stealing a cookie from the cookie jar. I wiped my head around quickly to find Cameron standing beside us. The same expression on his face. I smirked slightly, turning back to Carly. I grabbed her face kissing her passionately. I could his feet shuffle on the floor as he walked past us quickly. She is mine.
"We should go to your mom, she needs all the support she can get right now," I suggested, helping her up off the floor, "And hey Carly?"
"Mhm?" She mumbled still staring at the floor.
"I love you."
