Goku X Vegeta Oneshots

"Don't Cuss in Front of the Kids!"

It was just a bad day all around. Goku had left early that morning to visit his friends, leaving a pregnant Vegeta to watch over their six rambunctious cubs. He'd lied to Goku, saying that he was feeling much better than he had in the previous weeks. In all honesty he thought he was going to die. Vegeta managed to feed his hyper children without gagging at the smell of food and begged them to be quiet while he rested on the couch. Kanalune, as always, was the one consistently shushing her loud brothers. "Papa needs to rest," she hissed, whacking Gogeta upside the head. "He doesn't feel good. Didn't you see him? He looks so pale. He needs to sleep and he can't if you dumbos keep talking and shouting!"

Vegeta smiled from his place on the couch. He could have sworn that Begeta had sent him an angel from on high when he and Goku had been gifted with her. She came in shortly and, seeing that he was awake, crawled up and joined him. "I'm sorry you don't feel good, Papa," she said sadly, picking up his tail and stroking it lightly. Vegeta let out a surprised purr at the tender action. "Is the baby bothering you?"

"A little," Vegeta murmured, enjoying the attention to his tail. "It's mostly food that gets to me though. If I get snappy with you or your brothers today, I don't mean it, ok?"

"I know, Papa... You were like this with Zuna, too!" she giggled.

Vegeta snuggled her close like a teddy bear and refused to let her go. "Nope!" he said when she laughed and wiggled. "Your daddy went and abandoned me, so you'll have to replace him!"

"But I can't be Daddy!" she cried. "You and Daddy do the kissy stuff!"

Vegeta cackled wickedly and began to litter kisses all over her little face. "You're just going to have to grow tall and strong like your father. Then you'll be a perfect replica." He settled down and simply held her. "Come on," he said. "I'm lonely. If your circus clown of a father was here, it would be him in this situation instead of you."

"Ok, Papa; I'll stay with you." She kissed his cheek.

"I knew you would see things my way..."

"I said, that's enough!" Vegeta barked at the squealing cubs. All six hushed, but it didn't last long. Goku had only just gotten home, he had a raging headache, he was sick, and the little ones refused to be quiet. Vegeta knew that he was on the end of a very short fuse and he did not want to blow. It was the last straw when Vegito accidentally stepped on his mother's tail.

Everyone jumped very nearly out of their skins when Vegeta's voice went to a screech. "You all just need to shut the fu-"

Goku's eyes widened and he dived forward, stepping on Vegeta's foot. Vegeta shrieked again. "-UDGE-!!! Kakarrot, what the-!"

Goku now whacked Vegeta on the head.

"-heck!?"

"Don't cuss in front of the kids!" Goku chided as gently as the situation would allow.

"You piece of sh-!"

This earned a pop on the mouth.

"Shitaki mushrooms!" Vegeta stormed upstairs and Goku heard the bedroom door slam hard enough to break a window somewhere else in the house.

Goku silently motioned the terrified cubs over to him. "It's ok, you guys. Papa didn't mean it. He hasn't been feeling good. I know it's really hard for you guys to be quiet, but we all need to be careful right now or Papa might eat us." The cubs giggled nervously, but seemed more relaxed. "Why don't you guys go watch tv or play some games?" Goku suggested. "Just keep it down, yeah?"

Once he got the kids situated, he crept upstairs and peeked silently into their room. Vegeta was laying facedown, and he was shaking. Goku summoned the courage to whisper, "Geta? Can I come in?" Vegeta nodded, not moving otherwise. Goku approached and sat down beside him, rubbing his back. "I'm sorry, babe. They get riled up so easily."

Vegeta sat up and leaned against Goku. He'd obviously been crying a little. "It's ok," he muttered. "I'm just... done. It's been a long day, and it only makes it harder when you're not here."

"I'm sorry," said Goku, resting his head on Vegeta's. "I shouldn't have left today."

"You needed to see your friends. I've been really greedy with you lately." Vegeta snuggled against him, closing his eyes. Goku held him for a long time, then realized that Vegeta had fallen asleep. He chuckled and held his Prince tightly before laying him down and tucking him in. Then he went downstairs to play with the kids. Hopefully tomorrow would be a better day...
