*Continuation of The Other Side, approximately two years after. Goku's success is at an all time high, but- just like he knew he would- he has fallen deeply in love with his Prince. He sees the way Vegeta looks at him and knows the feelings are shared. He knows that Vegeta is afraid of their social separation and the opinion of their people if they were to be together, but Goku doesn't care about that at all and just wants his Prince to be happy.*

It was a hot night. Despite all the fun they had, the fighters had found it difficult to get through and make it look good. Goku touched Piccolo's arm with a murmur of, "Good job," as he passed, and he saw Vegeta doing the same with the others. Vegeta hugged Eighteen and avoided getting run over by the boys. Goku chuckled and made his way towards the Prince.

Vegeta was now up untangling the ropes and gathering them to put away for the night. Goku inhaled. "Vegeta! Need some help?"

Vegeta looked down. When his eyes caught Goku, he smiled brightly and began his descent. "No, I've got it; but thank you. What are you still doing out here, Kakarrot? Don't you have a party you need to get to?" He sounded slightly sarcastic.

Goku shook his head with a smile. He'd never been able to get Vegeta to call him Goku, since it was a "stage name". "No, I, uh... I sent Krillin to represent me for tonight."

"What in the world for?" Vegeta asked. "You live for those parties. Are you not feeling well?"

Not exactly, he thought as his heart ached. "I just wanted to talk with you for a while."

Vegeta went on tearing down, but still listened. "What about?" he said over his shoulder. When Goku didn't reply, he turned around. The younger Saiyan stood very still, looking at the ground. "Kakarrot?"

Goku sighed softly. "You know I want you... It's not a secret I try to hide." He looked up, eyes sparkling with passion. "I know you want me, so don't keep saying your hands are tied. You claim it's not in the cards, that fate is pulling you miles away and out of reach from me. But you're here in my heart so who can stop me if I decide that you're my destiny?" Goku moved forward and reached out to Vegeta, who stood shocked. "What if we rewrite the stars? Say you were made to be mine. Nothing could keep us apart. You'd be the one I was meant to find." He knelt in front of Vegeta, taking his gloved hands. "It's up to you, and it's up to me. No one can say what we get to be. So why don't we rewrite the stars? Maybe the world could be ours tonight."

Vegeta's eyes were filled with tears. He shook his head and took a step back. Despite the negative words, Goku was enchanted by his angelic voice. "You think it's easy... You think I don't want to run to you? But there are mountains and there are doors that we can't walk through." He walked away from Goku and began to scale the ropes. "I know you're wondering why, because we're able to be just you and me within these walls. But when we go outside, you're going to wake up and see that it was hopeless after all! No one can rewrite the stars! How can you say you'll be mine?" Vegeta looked down at him now from far up near the roof. "Everything keeps us apart! And I'm not the one you were meant to find." He looked away, holding back his tears. "It's not up to you. It's not up to me, when everyone tells us what we can be. How can we rewrite the stars, say that the world could be ours tonight?"

Goku shot up into the air, catching the Prince by the waist. Their voices soared out together in perfect harmony. "All I want is to fly with you. All I want is to fall with you. So just give me all of you!"

"It feels impossible!"

"It's not impossible," Goku countered gently.

"Is it impossible?"

"Say that it's possible!" they cried out together. There was a single breath between them in which they nearly kissed, but Vegeta suddenly grinned and fled Goku's arms. Goku chased after.

"How can we rewrite the stars? Say you were made to be mine!" Goku swept Vegeta up in his arms, spinning him wildly. "Nothing can keep us apart, and you are the one I was meant to find!" Their foreheads rested together as the passion of the moment caught them up like a hurricane. "It's up to you, and it's up to me. No one can say what we get to be! Why don't we rewrite the stars? Changing the world to be ours...!"

Here Vegeta slowly came to a pause. He and Goku landed gently, and he stepped away, biting his lip. "I... I can't," he whispered. "You know I want you... It's not a secret I try to hide. But I can't have you... We're bound to break and my hands... are tied." He turned and left the room, breaking into a run just outside of Goku's view.

Goku watched after him, his heart slowly breaking.
