*Sick of serving under Frieza's thumb, King Vegeta sinks into a vengeful, murderous mindset, determined to gain the freedom of his people.*
The King slowly stood from his place on his throne. A child- a mere cub- burned with the golden light of the gods. His eyes were blue fire, powerful, but innocent. And beside that child stood his excited son, Prince Vegeta. The older cub's tail lashed excitedly. "Father, my scouter broke when I looked at him! His name is Kakarrot. He's General Bardock's son!"
A third class cub... a Super Saiyan...?
His son took young Kakarrot's hand. "He said he'd teach me how to do it too!"
At his son's words, a shudder ran through Vegeta. This had to be a sign from Begeta; it was time. It was time to dethrone their tyrant and restore the power of the Saiyans. Maybe not by his own hand, but with his son's power and that of this other cub, it could be done. If one Super Saiyan couldn't defeat Frieza, then two certainly could...
"Excellent..." he purred, grinning. "Bardock's cub, you said? Kakarrot... fetch your father. Tell him that I must speak with him."
"Yes, sir!" the cub said. He bowed, then ran off to find his father. Little Vegeta began to follow, but Vegeta called him back.
"Ah, ah! Vegeta, come here, cub." He smiled and gestured his son forward. The cub came back, purring happily. "I'm surprised you didn't know about Kakarrot beforehand, Vegeta," he said, taking the cub in his arms. "He'll be a good companion for you. I've hated to see you so lonely."
"He's my friend now," the little Prince declared. "We're going to train really hard until I can do that too!"
"That's a good plan," Vegeta purred, kissing his cub's cheek. "But it's very late, cub. You should have been in bed quite a while ago. Did you run away from Nappa again?"
"Yes..." the cub admitted.
Vegeta just laughed. "Stealth is a good thing, little one. Come. Let's get you settled down." He carried his son into his room upstairs, briefly staging a mock struggle to subdue the giggling gremlin. He laughed and kissed his forehead. "Hush," he whispered. "Sleep, my sweet Vegeta, let your dreams take wing. One day when you're big and strong... you will be a King."
"Goodnight, Father," the cub called sleepily as his father left.
"Goodnight, my little Prince," Vegeta crooned. "Tomorrow your training intensifies..." He slipped out, allowing his thoughts of revenge and hate to darken. "I've been exiled, persecuted, left alone with no defense." He paused at the doors to his chambers, gripping the handles tightly. "When I think of what that brute did-" One of them snapped off, startling him a little. "I get a little tense." He pushed in anyway, entering his large, dark room. The moon was rising, little more than a sliver of light in the purpled skies. "But I dream a dream so pretty that I don't feel so depressed, cause it soothes my inner kitty, and it helps me get some rest."
He flopped down on his bed, laughing a little maniacally at the images floating around his excited mind. "The sound of Frieza's dying gasp! His generals squealing in my grasp! I hear his father's mournful cry!" He laughed again. He was bloodthirsty now, all but aroused at the thought of a war. "That's my lullaby!"
He sat up, musing now. "Now the past I've tried forgetting, and my foes I could forgive..." He snarled softly. No. "Trouble is- I know it's petty- but I hate to let them live! Now I've found myself somebody to chase Frieza up a tree. Oh, the battle will be bloody, but that kind of works for me!" He stood, going to his windows. The moonlight shone in his eyes, only worsening the bloodlust and rage. "The melody of angry growls! A counterpoint of painful howls! A symphony of death, oh my! That's my lullaby!"
He thought back on his young cub, and the pressure that was about to placed on his shoulders. "So sleep, my little darling, my precious little thing. One day when you're big and strong, you will be a King!" He looked up at the moon. It would take time. He would have to be patient for some time yet, but when the day finally came...
"The pounding of the drums of war! The thrill of my son's mighty roar! The joy of vengeance, testify! I can hear the cheering! I hear the battle cry! Payback time is nearing, and then our flag will fly against a blood-red sky! Oh, that's my lullaby!"
*Ok good enough lmao I hope you guys like it!*
