*While Goku is working as a nightguard in the most popular spot in town, he befriends the four animatronics that are there. When Vegeta becomes injured and begins glitching oddly, he attacks Goku. Does he survive another night?* *WARNING: unexpectedly dirty...*

Goku closed his eyes tightly when he saw the wounded robot flying his direction. He was not wanting to see his blood splashing everywhere. But there was no pain when the small animatronic softly collided with him. He was only poked slightly by the blown pieces of Vegeta's ruptured shell as he hugged Goku. "Goku! You're ba- ba- back!" Vegeta's voice stuttered painfully. He whirred loudly in frustration, which made him glitch even more.

"Hey, hey, calm down," Goku soothed, touching his tail to calm him. "I'm so sorry about last night. I thought-"

"No. I'm sorry," Vegeta whispered. "What I did was really, really bad." He looked away, ashamed. "I... I was scared he'd hurt us. I couldn't let that happen, so I took him apart. But it w- was all wrong. I don't think people can be put back together the- the- the- the w- way we can."

Goku pulled back to observe the damage. The metal was torn by the bullets, and it looked like it'd be hard to fix. "Vegeta... I need you to do something for me. Do you trust me?"

"Yes... You're my friend. You'd never hurt me, Goku." Vegeta's eyes relaxed, showing his trust despite the pain.

"Can we be alone, guys?" Goku asked softly. The other animatronics glanced at each other, but nodded and left, sensing that they would need the privacy. "Ok, Vegeta... I want to help you. I need to take off the suit."

The robot shrank slightly. "But I'll scare you again! And- And it's all sharp in there. I don't want to hurt you. I don't want you to be afraid of me. Please don't, Goku."

"Do you remember what I told you?" Goku asked quietly. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You're my friend and I love you for who you are, not what you look like. You'd never hurt me on purpose. If I don't do something, it'll get worse, and I can't let that happen to you." He touched Vegeta's cheek. "Do you trust me?"

Vegeta's respiratory system was slightly overheated and seemed caught. But he managed to regain control and, despite his fear of Goku's reaction, nodded. Goku smiled encouragingly and began to slowly open the suit, piece by piece. Vegeta softly instructed him so that he could fully open the front of the suit. He kept his eyes squeezed tightly shut so he couldn't see the horror and repulsion on Goku's face.

Frankly, Goku was fascinated by Vegeta's inner workings. A small, heart-like engine was just visible behind a thin plate of wiring. It ran with a whisper. He really did look a lot like a person. His face was nothing more than eyes, and a mouth, but it wasn't ugly at all in his opinion. "Vegeta..." he said. "Open your eyes. There's nothing to be ashamed of."

Vegeta peered open an eye and saw Goku smiling. "You're- You're not scared of me...?" he whispered. "But... I'm so ugly. I look scary."

"I don't think so," Goku replied. "I think you look really cool. Now, let's try to get you fixed up. I'm glad I went to school for this..."

The next few hours passed slowly, but in a hazy blur for Vegeta. Goku's gentle hands carefully tended each damaged place. All previous work had been done with even more machinery, not by hand, so Vegeta was unused to the sensation. Goku began to wonder why Vegeta was so quiet. "Are you ok, Vegeta? I'm not hurting you, am I?"

Oh, quite the opposite. Vegeta's core engine was working doubletime. His voice modulator was acting quirky, but not from electrical problems this time. "G- Goku... Goku...?" He didn't know what was happening. His respirator was nearly offline. Why were his reactors doing this? It felt so good...
