*Part Three of Jekyll and Hyde.*
Vegeta was definitely pregnant. In only a few weeks he was starting to show, and Goku found himself already talking to their baby. Vegeta was less enthusiastic about the whole ordeal, although he did enjoy the new burst of attention that it brought him. Even Gohan seemed relaxed and wanted to help in what ways he could. Thank the gods he'd gone to medical school. "Although this is not something I was trained for!" he laughed.
The morning sickness hadn't lasted very long at all, much to Vegeta's relief. He was eating like a horse but still the baby took up a good deal of the energy that came from all that food. Anyone else likely would be the size of a blimp with how much he was eating, but Goku thought that he was losing even more weight.
"Don't worry so much," Vegeta said, kissing his cheek. The Prince had become very mellow over the past few weeks, not that anyone was complaining. His energy, warm and full, had a comforting feeling that many of them enjoyed to take part in. Even being in his presence was enough to cool a heating temper. And Vegeta quickly gained a scary knack of knowing exactly where that temper was and quelling it before any fights broke out.
The Lookout had become an even calmer place indeed.
But Vegeta began acting strange. Goku's constant presence was a must. He moved around restlessly, and the loss of that comfort made everyone else uneasy. "He's not hurting or anything," Goku said to Piccolo. "Ok, he was earlier, but he's ok now. Maybe it's just nerves? He is a little scared about all of it."
"Either that or he needs to go home," Piccolo replied. "He's safe here, yes, but it's not home. He needs that more than anything right now, Goku. He needs to be- He needs to find where he wants to be. That may not be here, or home. He may need a newer territory for now. Like you said you were going to do. Let him wander around, explore a little. May find a suitable nesting ground, may not."
"I think you're right." Goku clapped his friend on the shoulder and smiled. "Thanks for the advice. And everything you do, Piccolo. You're doing a good job taking care of my son. I'm proud to claim you as family."
Piccolo just grinned and walked away. "Don't. You'll get me emotional."
"Softy!" Gohan yelled from across the courtyard. Piccolo attacked him playfully, then kissed him.
Goku went to join his mate. Vegeta smiled at him, but Goku sensed a deep discomfort and a need to get away. "Ya ok, Geta? How bout you and me go down to the surface for awhile? The change in scenery might do us both some good."
"Ok," Vegeta said. "Are we going home?" It seemed that Piccolo was likely right. Vegeta just wanted to go home.
"We'll do whatever you want," Goku said. He took his hands and kissed them, eliciting a small smile from the little Prince. "Hey. You look beautiful today. You know that, right?"
Vegeta laughed. "Is that supposed to mean that I don't always?"
Goku's face blanked. "N- No, I- Vegeta!" he said, crossing his arms. "How am I supposed to reply to that?"
Vegeta turned to walk away, chuckling. "The proper response, darling, is "No, sweetness, you're always beautiful"."

Vegeta made a sound of annoyance as soon as they walked in the door. There was a thin layer of dust over almost everything. He immediately started cleaning, much to Goku's displeasure. He caught Vegeta's arms, and he said, "No! Don't strain yourself. You just need to relax right now; it's been a stressful day."
Vegeta gave him a weird look. "Kakarrot, I'm fine."
Goku made Vegeta sit down and sat in front of him. "I don't wanna sound controlling, but we gotta set some ground rules. I'm doing chores from now on. Except cooking, cause I suck at that, but you get the idea. I'll even help you with that. I don't want you going up the stairs cause I don't want you to fall."
Vegeta looked baffled. "Kakarrot, what the fu-?"
"I'm not done yet," he said, holding up a finger. "I know it sounds dumb, but I'm just being overprotective. I have to take care of you and our cub, Vegeta. I'll get one of the spare rooms ready for us to sleep in tonight. If you need anything- anything at all- just tell me, ok?" He kissed his confused mate and stood up.
Vegeta just shook his head and stood up as well. "Can I at least go down to the freezer to pull out dinner?" he asked sarcastically.
"No. What are we eating?" Goku crossed his arms.
Vegeta gaped at him, insulted. "Uh- ok, no," he said, putting his hands on his hips. "You are not going to be like this. I won't have you ordering me around left and right out of concern for me and the cub. This isn't going to go down like that. You know why? Keep in mind that the last time I had such boundaries on my being was when I served under Frieza." His eyes were sharp and cold. "Don't be my next Frieza, Kakarrot."
Goku's heart sank when he realized Vegeta was right. He lowered his gaze. "I'm sorry. I don't know what came over me, Vegeta."
Vegeta's hands cupped his face and made him look up. He received a soft kiss from his little mate, who whispered, "I know you're scared. I know you're excited. But I do know my limits, Kaka, and I promise I won't do anything too extreme. You'll have to do more and more for me as time goes on, but until then, let me have some freedom, yeah?" he chuckled.
Goku smiled and kissed him again. "Yeah. Ok. I love you, Vegeta. You know that, right?"
"I know," Vegeta replied. "I love you too."
