*Another songfic lol. Some twenty years after the Babidi Saga, Vegeta is plagued by memories from his past and finds Goku alone in the woods.*

The winter wind snapped sharply against Vegeta's nearly frozen body. He shivered, staring up at the man who's company he so desperately desired. No one else understood. No one else could. "Kakarrot, could I please have your advice?" he whispered. "Could I ask you once more... have you ever felt crushed with the guilt you hold inside, despite the laugh of your friends, and the strength that they lend? The feeling's so lingering... leaving you spent.

"I can still recall the way that it felt, on my own in isolation, kept away from hurting all that I loved with the jealousy that I let myself have. And though I'm trying to heal... it's hard to let go of the past that I made so real." He shivered again, his teeth chattering. The snow around them shone bright in the silver moonlight. "... Cause I've missed you so dearly and it's been far too long. Can you ever forgive me for what I did wrong...?"

Goku's eyes shone. "Oh, Vegeta, I am so sorry for all the ways I ignored how unhappy you felt and the burdens you bore; those years ago, still fresh in my mind through the passing of time. But I won't let our past mask the joy of your return." He smiled and took Vegeta's hands. "You let it go and you let me get close, and the spring approaches to erase the frozen ways that are left in the wake. And after all this time we can finally fly in cold night sky and frolic, running through the fields." He hesitantly put an arm around the tiny Saiyan's shoulders. "We can spend time together, like we should have all those years ago. So please don't be sad now, cause I'm just glad you're here. I'm just grateful to have you home."

Vegeta smiled and leaned into Goku's warm embrace. His heart beat fast. He knew that Goku would never let him go. That he'd always be there. He always had.
