Here is the continuation of Too Quiet! Enjoy!

Goku was cuddling his mate and grinning like an idiot despite the fact that Vegeta's life was basically on the line. The two of them and all three of the boys were dog piled on the bed, with Vegeta strategically placed so that he was still close to Goku, but not crushed by the boys. Trunks and Goten were napping, but the eldest three remained awake and talked.

"I definitely feel better now that I know I'm not actually stark raving mad," Vegeta chuckled. "I just... I still can't sense any kind of energy. It's weird. Now that I've calmed down a bit, I can kind of laugh at myself for acting the way I did. Kami, you guys must have been freaking out almost as badly as I was."

"Dad was panicking," Gohan replied. "When he couldn't calm you down and you passed out, he was actually crying."

"Ohh, poor Kaka." Vegeta patted Goku's head, grinning at his grumpy expression. "I must admit, though, that was terrifying. If it never happens again, it will still be too soon." He fell quiet for a moment, then whispered, "I've... I've never felt like that in my life. For days I'd been harboring this... suspicion that I was dreaming, or maybe that I was imagining things. It didn't feel right. Then yesterday, I was completely overwhelmed by the idea that I may have been shoved into some kind of alternate reality, similar to a special training I did when I was young."

Goku nodded. "That explains a lot. Ooh, hey, I've got an idea!"

"What?" The other two glanced at him.

Goku cackled quietly and shook his head. "Nope, it's a surprise. We'll do it after your surgery, Geta. I just realized ya can't read my mind anymore, ha!"

"Baka. Go to sleep."

Winter got in contact with the hospital he'd mentioned and then got back to Bulma. "They'll do it, but it's going to be expensive. And life-threatening. Even professionals make mistakes; anything could happen to Vegeta. Seeing as they're connected, the Saiyans may survive it or not."

"I'll talk to them and let them discuss it."

"Another note," Winter murmured. "If the surgery isn't performed, Vegeta still has a high risk of further damage or death. It doesn't matter what they choose; it's going to be rough any way they go about it."

"Ok," Bulma said softly. "I'll call them now. Bye." She hung up the phone and sighed, burying her face in her hands. Then she straightened and grabbed her phone again.

"Hey, Bulma!" Goku chirped as he answered the phone. "Has Winter gotten back to ya?" He listened intently as soon as she began to speak, and lowered himself into a chair.

"Dad?"

"Kakarrot, what's wrong?"

Goku nodded, ignoring his family. "Yeah. Ok. Yeah, I'll talk to him. See ya later, Bulma." He hung up rather angrily, almost crushing the delicate machine in his hand. Vegeta leapt forward and stopped him.

Vegeta cupped Goku's face in his hands. "What's wrong? Will they not do it?"

Goku clasped Vegeta's hands, struggling and failing to hide his tears. He shook his head. "N- No, they'll do it. But..." No. I'm not going to tell him. I can't.

"Why are you crying then?" Vegeta gently brushed his tears away, smiling. Goku's heart broke but he held it back. "It's simple; we get it out and I'm fixed. Things will go back to normal."
