Goku X Vegeta Oneshots

Nightmares

*Goku realizes that something is definitely wrong with his mate when he starts coming home daily to an intoxicated Vegeta. The Prince refuses to say what's on his mind, but Goku knows he has to get to the bottom of this before Vegeta does something really stupid.*

Goku watched Vegeta rather coldly as his mate hunched over the toilet, throwing up again. He could feel a distant throbbing in his head from the link, and he was sympathetic but not pitying. "Vegeta, this has to stop," he said harshly, ignoring the soft whimpers. "What the hell is wrong with you? I leave for a few hours and when I get back, you're practically drowning in alcohol. What's wrong? Talk to me."

Vegeta's dark, bloodshot eyes slid his way. "Fuck off," he spat, and was beyond shocked when Goku backhanded him in the mouth. He stared at Goku from the floor, terrified.

"Don't you dare talk to me like that," Goku hissed. "I have silently put up with this shit for weeks on end. You have no right, no right, to put me or yourself through this. I am your seme. I'm supposed to take care of you. I can't do that if you're just drinking yourself to death!" His eyes were bluish, but he stopped the instant he realized that Vegeta was shuddering in fear. Goku closed his eyes, breathing deeply to calm himself. "Vegeta... I don't know what's wrong. I don't know if it's me, or you, or us, but this has to stop. If it doesn't, this might not work. I can't deal with this."

Vegeta hung his head, struggling and failing to hold in his tears. This was an all-time low. He barely remembered anything that had happened in the past month, his body was rejecting almost anything he tried to put into it, and now Goku was cracking down on him with no sign of mercy. "You- You... can't deal w- with this?" he choked out. "You can't- d- deal with fucking th- this?" His ki spiked wildly and he transformed, not even realising that he had. "You don't understand!" he wailed, attacking Goku with wild, random blows. Goku blocked, eyes wide. "You think I don't know how fucked up I am!? You don't see what I see! You don't hear what I hear! You can't understand! You can't and neither can any of your stupid friends!" He burst into his second form and blazed away, leaving Goku paralyzed with shock at the outburst.

Goku stood there for a moment, trying to catch his breath. Then he flew after Vegeta. "Vegeta, wait! Come back!" Vegeta, come back! He followed the fiery ki to the wasteland where they met. Goku knew he'd go there. He always did, no matter how predictable it was. No matter how angry he was, or how upset he was, or how drunk he was, Vegeta always came to this special place whenever he made a run for it.

Blinded by tears, Vegeta crashed into the mountainside. He didn't bother to catch himself. He hit the ground, sobbing. When he heard Goku land softly beside him, Vegeta simply couldn't summon the willpower to try to escape again. He let Goku take him up into his arms and hold him close. Vegeta grabbed the soft fabric of the gi and buried his face into Goku's chest.

Goku rocked his crying Prince slowly, not saying anything, just holding him. He wasn't sure when Vegeta had cried himself to sleep, but when he had, Goku lifted his fingers to his forehead and teleported them home. He settled down on the bed with Vegeta and ran his fingers through his hair. What in the world had Vegeta been talking about? You don't see what I see... You don't hear what I hear. Goku looked at his sleeping mate. Time to figure out what was wrong. He hated to do it, but this had gone on too far. With a deep breath, he sank into Vegeta's mind.

Blood splattered directly into his face. Goku shrieked in alarm, wiping it away frantically. Gods, it was everywhere. Screams rang in his ears, and dark laughter. Something exploded right beside him, throwing the terrified Saiyan several yards. He tumbled to his feet and looked around frantically. Someone not too far away vomited blood, then just collapsed. Another explosion went off in the distance. Goku watched, horrified.
