Happy Birthday, Martel!

*Happy birthday, MartelBaggins, I love you, my little Kakondra!*

So he said that, as a birthday present, he'd spar with you. Which is, like, awesome, because he's been really distant lately. You go to meet Vegeta at Capsule Corps, since that was where he told you to meet him, but... then he tells you that you guys aren't sparring there. "Come with me, Kakondra," he says, flying up and zooming off. Curious and excited, you follow him.

"Vegeta, where are we going?" you call, speeding up to fly beside him.

To your pleasant surprise, he doesn't try to leave you behind and allows you to fly beside him. "Well, it wouldn't be a surprise if I told you, baka," he chuckles. You grin widely. He hardly ever laughs, and you can't help but admire how handsome he is when he does. "Hurry up; we're almost there."

A few minutes later, you begin to recognize where he's taking you. As you both land, you gasp, "Vegeta, is this...?" You squeal excitedly.

He laughs a little. "Yes, Kakondra. This is where you and I fought on the day we met." He grins at you, his long white fangs glittering. "But... we're not here to spar."

You blink in surprise and tilt your head wonderingly. "What? Then... What are we here for, Vegeta?"

He thinks in silence for several moments, then sits down on the edge of one of the cliffs, looking out over the barren land. "I... was just thinking maybe we could just... I don't know, sit here and reminisce. Maybe spar later."

You have no problems with that. Any time with Vegeta is better than none! You sit down beside him and close your eyes with a happy sigh. "So whatcha wanna talk about?" you ask, looking at him with your bright smile.

He doesn't look at you. His eyes seem darker than usual, lost in some kind of quietly desperate thought. "Why?"

"Why what?" you ask.

"Why'd you save me?" He looks at you now. "I know I've asked over and over, paid for it time and time again, but I just don't understand." He looks away again.

You actually have to think about it. Why? "Because I wanted to be your friend. You... you didn't have one. A friend. You were all on your own. And I knew that you needed someone. You're my friend, Vegeta. And I love you."

His face turns red and he shoves your shoulder. "D- Don't say it like that, you baka!"

You just laugh and hug him. "Thanks for bringing me out here, Geta!"

He doesn't really hug back, but he doesn't push you away either. "Tch... You're welcome. Baka."
