*Bringing back fem!Kakavege lol*
Regina didn't like people. She hated people with a burning passion. Including the very giggly, very clingy, very... very pretty... Giula. "I said get off!" she again barked at the tall, lanky Saiyan who decided it would be a fabulous idea to sling her muscular arm around her shoulders. "Know your boundaries, Kakondra!"
"Aw, c'mon, Gina," Giula whined, pouting her lips cutely. "We been friends forever and ya won't even let me hug ya?"
"Of course not," the Princess huffed, turning her nose up at the very idea. "You know I don't like being touched."
Not... in... public, anyway. The two Saiyans sat together- as always, it seemed- at a "family" reunion, which included Giula's friends as well as Regina's little family. Everyone was chatting happily.
Everyone but Regina. Not that this was unusual. And, also not unusual, Giula had come to see if the antisocial little Princess wanted some company.
Giula hated the mixed signals she was constantly receiving from Regina. Sometimes during spars, or late at night, or early enough in the mornings, she would see looks aimed directly at her expressing affection and want. She wasn't blind to it like Regina seemed to assume.
Memories came dancing back to her mind. They'd (accidentally) gotten drunk together and passed out under Regina's bed for a reason neither of them could figure out, curled up in a tangle like sleeping kittens. Giula remembered waking up first, her light hangover chased away by the sight of the peacefully sleeping Regina. She'd never lose that memory. The older Saiyan's hair had been messy, but prettily so. Regina always seemed to look pretty. Her long eyelashes nearly brushed against her cheeks from their natural volume, and... gods, her mouth. Regina's lips, not as plump as some, not as thin as others', were slightly parted as she slept.
She'd wanted to kiss her awake so bad. Her insides had burned with the need to touch that caramel skin in some way, any way.
Then there were negative signals, such as now. The Princess adamantly refused any kind of physical contact from anyone. Giula couldn't claim to be the brightest star in the sky, but even she knew when someone was scared. Had someone hurt her once, perhaps before they met? Giula knew that Bulma would never do such a thing; she and Regina got along so well.
She remembered the day they announced themselves a couple. It had shocked poor Giula to her very core. She'd had no idea that two girls could be together like that. Knowing that she'd only likely get a pouty snarl out of Regina for such a silly question, Giula had turned to her best friend.
"Bulma, I don't get it," she had squeaked, still confused. "I thought- I thought only guys could be with girls!"
Bulma had laughed, a little awed by Giula's remaining naivety. "Oh, Giula, honey, it's ok! Girls can like girls too." She paused, thinking. "Have you never met a lesbian before? Or someone bi, or pan? I mean, other than me."
Giula rubbed her head, thinking. "Naw. Not that I knew of anyway. What do those words mean?" she asked, even more confused.
"Sit." Bulma patted the couch beside her and watched her friend plop down beside her. "Well, a lesbian is a girl that only likes girls. She won't like guys that way at all. Someone who's bisexual... well, a lot of people mix up bisexuality and pansexuality. When you're bi, you can like guys and girls, and people who fit somewhere in between. Pansexual people generally don't take gender into account when they like a person." Bulma shrugged. "That's what I was taught. It can be a little complicated and overwhelming at first."
Giula looked fascinated. "I never knew... I always just thought I was weird..."
Bulma glanced at her friend quickly. "What do you mean?"
"Uh, what was that last one? The ones who don't mind what ya are?"
"You mean pan?" Bulma felt a grin slowly creeping onto her face. "Giula, are you...?"
Giula smiled brightly. "I think that's what I am!"
Bulma squealed in excitement and hugged Giula tightly. "That's awesome, Giula! Oh my gosh, wow!"
Giula blinked suddenly at the hand waving in front of her face. She turned her head and saw Regina looking oddly at her. "Are you alright, Kakondra? You completely spaced out. I've called your name several times now."
"Sorry," Giula giggled, rubbing her neck sheepishly. "Got distracted rememberin' stuff." She sat up a little. "Did ya want somethin'?"
Regina nodded. "I asked if you wanted to come get some food with me. It's here; might as well eat it."
"Alright! Ya can say that again." Giula giggled and hopped to her feet. "Count me in!"
The two Saiyans raided the food table and were chased off by a laughing Bulma. Oh well. They got what they were after anyway.
Regina curled up in her chair, picking at her food. Despite having exerted the effort to get up to fetch it, the Princess seemed almost disinterested in the snack. Giula noticed immediately, but left the matter alone. She didn't want to upset Regina's delicate temper. She was surprised when the little Saiyan cleared her throat. "You have something on your mind," Regina said, glancing at her companion. "Don't try to act as if you don't."
Giula cringed slightly. "I... I was wonderin' if you were ok," she admitted. "You're not really eatin' and I was wonderin' if ya were thinkin' about somethin'. Didn't wanna bother ya."
Regina shrugged slightly and set her food aside. "I was thinking, actually." She shifted more comfortably and watched the others' activities as the sky began to turn orange with evening. "I've been thinking for a long time."
Giula watched her friend's eyes shine in the dying light. She was beautiful. "Do ya wanna talk about it?"
"Yes," Regina said, continuing to stare at the sun as it slowly lowered further. "I'm finally ready to talk about it."
Now Giula felt a little concerned for her friend. "Is everything ok, Regina?" she asked. "Are you ok?"
Regina finally looked at her and smiled a little. She lifted herself using the arm of the chair she was sitting in, leaning dangerously close to Giula. The younger Saiyan blinked in surprise and felt her cheeks redden at their proximity. After waiting for what felt like forever- perhaps trying to sense for disapproval of how close she'd gotten- Regina leaned even further forward and planted a chaste kiss on Giula's lips before sitting back again. She smiled a little more at the pleasantly surprised and embarrassed look on Giula's face, then chuckled and murmured, "I am now."
Unable to help herself, Giula reached up and touched her lips, blinking at how tingly her whole body seemed all of a sudden. Her fingers were nothing like the feeling of Regina's mouth, but she just didn't know what else to do. "Gina...?"
"Gayyy!" Bulma called teasingly to her friend and ex.
"I should hope so!" Regina laughed. Giula was still too flustered to react to the comment. She was even more flabbergasted when Regina moved her hand and kissed her again, not quite so innocently this time. Giula squeaked into Regina's mouth, confounded by everything that was happening, and it made Regina pull away and laugh a little. "Relax, baka," Regina purred, lacing her delicate fingers through Giula's crazy hair. "Or I'll stop."
Giula whined a little in protest. "Sorry, I- I- that was m- my..." She halted, too embarrassed to go on.
But Regina understood, her eyes widening. "Your-? Kakondra, that was your first kiss???"
Positive that she looked like a cherry tomato, Giula glanced away and giggled. She didn't reply, which in turn answered Regina's question. Regina huffed in surprise and took Giula's face in her hands, smirking. "Would you like to make it two?"
Giula giggled again and nodded eagerly. "Yeah. And... three?"
