You and Tom were them people that everyone wanted to be together you wanted to be with Tom and Tom wanted to be with you but you never did anything about it. Well that was until a few days ago when Tom let everything out

*Flashback*
"Y/N I need to tell you something" Tom tells you taking a seat on the sofa as it was your movie night that you had at least once a month

"What is it? Are you okay?" You ask turning your body so your eyes meet and your hand meets his lightly

"Listen for a very long time felt something towards you and I know you feel it as well so I am going to be the one start this so Y/N I really like you I mean I'm in love with you and I want us to be together please tell me you feel the same" you didn't have words to explain it so you just kissed him

*Present day*
You and Tom never really discussed what was happening between the both of you but you did know it was nothing you knew that it wasn't a friendship anymore. As Tom was working away you had to wait until he was home to even start discussing what was happening between the both of you even though you had been texting back and forth both of you knew that it wouldn't be right to discuss anything over message. You were with your best friend laying on her bed texting Tom with a huge smile on your face

"Who are you texting?" Your best friend asks

"Just Tom" You mumble knowing that she wouldn't say or do anything as she thinks you and Tom are only friends

"Can I tell you something?" She says rolling over her feet kicking over her head and you were well intrigued so you put your phone down and move to hear her better

"Of course" you smile

"I like Tom" she smiles but your face drops as does your heart

"What?"

"Yeah I've liked him for awhile now and when he's back I think I'm going to tell him how I feel I mean I honestly have never liked anyone like this before...oh you could talk me up to him so he definitely will say yes!" She cheers clapping but you didn't know how to react your face wasn't looking impressed "are you okay?"

"Yeah just kinda well shocked"

"I know I mean I hid it well but I do really like him like badly like you know when you get butterflies just by looking at someone" she says and you knew exactly what she was talking about because that's how you felt looking at Tom and in this moment you needed to make a decision on what you would do wether you would let your best friend have Tom or to be selfish and take Tom for yourself.

"Yeah I get what you mean" you smile slightly not really knowing what to do still.

*One Week Later*
Tom had been home not even an hour yet and he came straight to your place from the airport and you had finally made your decision on what you would do.

"Hey" Tom says walking through you door and you run over and hugging him tightly

"I've missed you" you let out a huge sigh once your in his arms it felt perfect being there once again.

"I've missed you so much too" He smiles but you were highly distracted for what you needed to tell Tom

"Come on we need to talk" You say holding his hand and taking him into the living room to the exact place you had your first kiss. "Okay so while you were away I realised that I don't love you Tom I'm so sorry but I do I can be without you and I think it's best if we just stay friends" you lie you lied so much and this killed you completely utterly killed you

"What are you on about?" He stutters

"I don't love you Tom and I don't need you as a boyfriend" your words where hurting Tom and you knew it but you couldn't stop and you didn't know why

"Where is this all coming from?" He asks as tears begin to form in his eyes

"Does it really matter Tom all that matters is we cannot be together" you tell him as you cry a bit

"Something has happened Y/N you wouldn't just do this from no where" and that's when you break down

"I can't tell you Tom but I need you to still be a friend to me so please just trust me" he pulls you in for a hug

"I'll do whatever you need" he says into your hair as he hugs
