I decided to hide behind the little wall which separates the hallway for the bathrooms and the bar, so I could listen to what they were saying.
"Hey Sal" Tanya said. I peered out from behind the wall to catch a look. She was holding Sal's hand as he placed his hands on the bar. He immediately threw his hands up as soon as her hand touched his.
"Go away Tanya!" He said to her.
"No, Sal. I love you" She said followed by a laugh. "Actually I don't. But I would like to go out with you!" Tanya said.
"No!" Sal repeated. "Just leave me alone!"
"Why?! Last week when you kissed me, it was amazing" Tanya said.
"Look, I don't like you; in any way. I hate you as a friend and as a person now! Leave me alone!" Sal shouted. I took this chance with walk back to the bar, and sit in my seat, which was by Tanya.
"Hey Tanya" I sarcastically said.
"Oh.. Emily right. And that's your ex" she said pointing to Sal. "I'd hate to tell you why he broke up with you" she said, attempting to get a rise out of me.
"Whys that?" I asked.
"Because.. me and him kissed" she told me.
"Okay" i said, smiling and getting back to my drink.
"Also, I never got a promotion" she said. Now I was genuinely interested, I wanted to know why she lied.
"What?" I asked.
"You see, I fancied Sal the minute I saw him. But as you and him not only had the perfect friendship, you had the perfect relationship. Therefore I saw you as my enemy. And we all know.. keep tour friends close, and your enemy's closer" she began. "So I pretended to be your friend, someone you could trust so I could get closer to Sal. So after I found out you were dating, I faked my promotion. That meant I had actually quit my job but didn't tell you! So because I chose to quit I told my boss I had the perfect replacement in mind. I chose Graham! He was the best looking, qualified guy I could find. I used him for a distraction for you! I was hoping you two would get together but you were to loyal to Sal and I could see it wasn't going to happen. Then I had to revert to plan B! I had to kiss Sal and I made sure that he was in the restaurant seeing you and Graham on a date!" She said.
"How?" I asked, in complete shock.
"I rang the client you were both going to meet and told them not to go! That meant that you and Graham looked as if you were on the date!" She told me.
"Wait- did Graham know??" I asked.
"Nope. He doesn't even know me! I just told the boss to hire him after I saw he was applying for a job anyways" she told me.
"So this was all just a plan for what? You and Sal to be together!" I asked, completely outraged.
"Yep! So now you know, I presume you would like me to date him and for you to leave right?" She asked. I turned to Sal who was also in complete shock.
"No. me and Sal are happy together. You need to leave!" I shouted. She smirked and walked back to her booth. I was so angry with her. I picked up my drink and walked over to her. I tapped her shoulder then said
"Payback!". I poured my drink all over her, then walked back to my stool at the bar with a smile. However I was still shocked by her plan and what she had done!
