2 weeks later...
I came home from a long day at the office. Me and Graham has been working on a big presentation in work. It had taken all the energy out of me. When I walked through the front door the smell of homemade food crawled up my nostrils. I threw my bag onto the sofa and walked into the kitchen. I saw Sal hovering over a saucepan, singing to himself, not realising I was there. He was belting out to Lionel Richie, until I crept up behind him and wrapped my hands around him, resting my head in his shoulder.
"Ah!" Sal jumped. "What are you doing here! I didn't hear you come in!" He said, attempting to calm himself down after I scared him.
"Probably because you were singing at the top of your lungs" I joked.
"Anyway..." Sal said p, clearly embarrassed. "I'm making us dinner" he said. "Murr lent me this recipe so I thought I'd try it" he said.
"It smells lovely" I said with a smile as I took a seat on the table.
"Why don't you take a relaxing bath and I'll call you when dinners ready" Sal suggested. Honestly, that was just what I needed. Some relaxation.
"Good idea" I said as I ran upstairs.I lit a few candles, and ran my bath. I made sure it was quite hot and chilled as I needed to unwind. Work was stressing me out so much recently, I haven't even had chance to think about the wedding. I was getting married in two weeks!
At the moment I had so many things on my mind. The presentation at work, the wedding, the planning of the wedding, portfolios I had to finish! It was too much for me.I slipped into the warm bath and rested my head back. I looked at the candles gently flickering as the most gentle gust of wind would flicker the delicate candles. Around me, the foam bubbles began to dissipate, as the water became still. I unwinded from my thoughts, as I was in pure relaxation.
About half an hour later Sal called up, informing me dinner was ready. I quickly slipped into my pyjamas and ran downstairs into the dining room.
"It looks delicious" I said to Sal as I knew how hard he had worked. I know he detests cooking, that's why I was so grateful.
"How was your bath?" He asked me.
"Relaxing" I said with a giggle. I took a forkful of food as it melted into my mouth. "This is stunning" I said to him.
"Thanks" he said. I noticed he was staring at me oddly. "Are you oaky?" He asked.
"Yeah, why?" I asked concerned.
"You just look exhausted" he said to me.
"Thanks" I said sarcastically. "I'm just knackered today" I revealed. When me and Sal got into bed, it was past 10pm.
"Night babe" he said to me as he rolled onto his side and drifted off to sleep.
However, I couldn't sleep. My mind was whizzing round with so many thoughts. I was stressed out. I had work weighing heavily on my mind, along with everything I had to do for the Wedding. I couldn't bare it all. It was too much. I tried to stop myself, but I began to cry. I let the tears slip from my eyes but I tried not to make a sound. But soon I couldn't help it, and I began crying to myself, with my head buried into my hands. I must have woken Sal up because he turned over to face me with a concerned expression.
"Em... are you okay??" I asked me. I removed my head from my hands as I shook my head no. "What's wrong??" He asked me. I couldn't bare to say any words. Sal sat up beside me and pulled me into a tight hug, and drew soothing circles on my back to calm me down.
"It's... its just.. I'm so stressed out recently... the wedding and work" I said, causing more tears to overflow from my eyes.
"Babe, I said I'll handle the wedding" Sal said.
"I can't expect you to do it all" I said.
"And I can't expect you to do it all. Look, we are in this together. We will help each other. The wedding will be the best day of our lives" Sal told me.
"Promise?" I asked.
"I promise" he replied with a kiss on my lips.
