"....a girl!!!" The midwife revealed. Sal's smile widened even further as he kissed my forehead. The midwife wrapped our little girl up in a blanket and handed her over to Sal.
"She's so small" he said with a little laugh, as he gently held her in his arms.
"She's so cute" I said. "That's our baby girl" I said, with a beaming smile.
Sal was fixated on her, his eyes filled with happy tears. He slowly sat in the bed beside me as we cradled our little baby girl in our arms.
"Now we need to think of a name..." Sal suggested.
"Susie?" I suggested.
"Nah, she's not a susie. What about.. Jessica??" I asked.
"No, she doesn't look like a Jessica. What about... Scarlett?" I asked.
"Scarlett?" Sal repeated. "Scarlett Vulcano..." he sung. "I like it" he said.
"Have we got a name??" The midwife asked, overhearing our conversation.
"Yep. Seems like we have a baby Scarlett" I said with a smile. After a few hours, Sal had filled out the birth certificate and baby Scarlett was checked over, and then we were allowed to take her home. The guys had already left, but were eager to visit our new baby as soon as they could. Sal pulled up in the driveway and immediately went to the back seat. He took Scarlett out of her car seat and carefully carried her in. I followed behind them both. When we got in, Sal handed Scarlett to me. She began crying so I tried to calm her down. But she wasn't stopping. Therefore Sal came back over and held Scarlett in his arms as he gently rocked her back and forth. She immediately fell asleep in his arms. I think it was due to his calming ora he had and his soft voice. Sal carefully sat in the sofa, with baby Scarlett asleep in his arms.
"Should we put her in the crib?" I asked.
"I think she's perfectly fine here" he said with a smile as he looked back at her. I warmly smiled and sat next to them both.A few hours later, Scarlett had worked up. It was just in time as Joe, Bessy, Murr and Q were making their way over. They were desperate to meet Scarlett. I heard a knock at the door and opened it. I led them into the living room where Sal was stood there holding her.
"Everyone meet baby Scarlett"
