When we got home, I put Scarlett in her crib and ran back downstairs to be met with Sal.
"I was wondering, maybe my parents could take care of Scarlett tomorrow and we could have some time to ourselves" Sal said to me.
"That would be great" I said wrapping my hands around his neck. We leaned in close about to share a kiss, until Scarlett began crying.
"I'll get her" Sal said to me as he walked upstairs to get her.Whilst he was up there, I got our film ready and a blanket on the sofa. A few minutes later Sal came back down, with Scarlett in his arms, securely. He slowly sat in the sofa, gently rocking her as she drifted back off to sleep.
"It's the only way she stays asleep" Sal whispered to me.
"It's fine. I have my favourite people all in one room" I said. I turned on the tv, on low volume, as the film began. I was fighting so much to stay awake, but my eyes felt so heavy. I soon drifted off to sleep. My head rested on Sal's shoulder as he tilted his head to lay on mine, whilst still holding Scarlett.
"My perfect little family" Sal whispered to himself with a smile.
