The next morning I woke up bright and early at 5am. Sal was already awake. He pressed his gentle lips against my forehead as we whispered "good morning". I smiled and rolled over to face him.
"Morning" I softly spoke.
"Good morning. I have to go to work soon" Sal whined.
"Me too. Are your parents taking care of the kids today?" I asked Sal. He gently nodded.
"Emily, I need to talk to you about something" Sal begun until Scarlett ran into the room.
"You awake early sweetheart" I said as she crawled in between me and Sal. She just laughed and led there in between us and soon fell asleep.
"What was you saying?" I whispered to Sal.
"Don't worry. It's nothing" he said as he nervously scratched his neck.
"Are you sure?" I asked. He nodded and got up.

When 7am arose I grabbed my laptop and rushed through the door. I didn't have a clue as to why Sal needed to talk to me, but whatever it was he wouldn't say. As soon as I got to my office I sent him a few texts.
Me: Sal, are you okay? xx
Me: what did you need to talk about? xxx

I suspected he was busy getting the kids ready. I began my days work, but I glanced over to the picture of me, Sal, Connor and Scarlett and felt my heart melt.
As I was filing a few things I heard the roaring of thunder booming from outside. I peeked out of the window and saw a storm was occurring. The sky soon turned a gloomy dark grey, as rain showered heavily from the sky.

The ping of my phone soon interrupted my thoughts. It was a text from Sal.
Sal: I don't know how to say this... I'm leaving this afternoon at 5. I am going touring again. Yesterday was goodbye from me. We are in the U.K. For a few months. My parents are taking care of the kids today. I'm sorry Em xxx

That was what he wanted to say to me. I couldn't bare for him to go. Not now... I needed him.  All through the day I was constantly thinking of ways of getting Sal to stay.. but I realised I was being selfish. Sal moved here so I could pursue my career and now I was going to stop him from perusing his... I had to let him go. It wouldn't be fair to make him stay. As soon as 5 o clock came Sal sent me a text.
Sal: I'm in the train station now. I suppose I'll see you in a few months.

I knew the train station was only 10 minutes away from the office. The storm continued but I wouldn't let that stop me. I grabbed my coat and began to run to the train station. I couldn't let him go without saying goodbye.
