Chapter 66

So Sal has been gone for about 2 months now, and I've seen on his social media he has been having a great time. He hasn't rung or text in a few days, but I have tried calling him. If truth be told, I've been struggling. I haven't had a wink of sleep in ages, and Scarlett is always crying. Sal's parents have been on holiday, and my dad hasn't been well recently so I didn't want to burden them. I just felt like I was alone. I love Sal, but he hasn't even called me. Tonight, I was so stressed. I was that stressed that I actually cried myself to sleep. I sat on the edge of my bed, letting the tears fall onto my hand which was connected to my face, that was until my phone began ringing. It was Sal. I swallowed my tears and took a deep breath and answered the phone.
"Hello?" I said in a shaky voice.
"Hey babe. Sorry I haven't rang in a few days" Sal said to me. "How are you doing?" He asked.
"I'm..." I took a deep breath. "I'm fine" I answered, letting a tear slip from my eye.
"Babe, are you okay. You sound upset" Sal said to me.
"Actually...." I began, about to tell him how I was feeling.
"Sorry. I gotta go. Q's buying the next round of drinks! Talk soon" Sal said then hung up.
"Bye" I whispered to myself as I led on the pillow, and cried myself to sleep.

The next morning I woke up to the sound of Scarlett crying. I rushed in and held her securely in my arms as I gently rocked her back and forth. She soon calmed down and drifted back to sleep. I knew that Sal was coming home next week which soon put my mind at ease.

It was the middle of the afternoon and Scarlett has finally fallen asleep, and hasn't woken up. I was in the kitchen tidying away when I felt someone's arms wrap around me. I jumped in shock and sharply turned around. It was Sal.
"Surprise!" Sal said. "We finished up early and I wanted to surprise you" he explained with a smile. I pulled him into a long hug. I smiled at him, as our foreheads rested together then I kissed him, feeling his smile print against my lips.
"Welcome home sweetheart" I said with a smile as all my worries vanished...
