At the end of the meeting, the managers were all discussing wether to accept the deal. What Lindsey had told me was still playing on my mind, but I wouldn't let it get in the way of me making this important offer.
"We accept!" One of the mangabeys said. "We have a client we would like you to work with!" He said enthusiastically to my boss.
"Sure! Emily and Graham will be able to handle this!" My boss said. Me and Graham smiled proudly and soon after we all went back to our offices.
I took out my phone and saw I had 5 missed calls from Sal. I quickly rang him back
"Finally! You call me back" Sal said with a laugh.
"Sorry babe, I was in a meeting" I told Sal.
"Oh yeah. Did it go well" Sal asked me.
"Yep. We got the offer!" I told Sal.
"Aww we,l done. I'm so proud of you. How about we go to dinner tonight to celebrate?" Sal offered.
"That would be splendid" I said to Sal, with a smile.
"Great. See you tonight, love you" Sal replied.
"Love you too" I replied hanging up the phone.
"Was that your boyfriend?" Graham asked.
"Yeah. He's taking me out for dinner tonight" I told him.
"That's nice" Graham said. Afterwards our boss walked in with some folders in his hand and slammed them onto the desk.
"I'm going to need you two to sort these out, and tomorrow night you will be going to dinner with our new client. I suggest Emily works on the presentation as she has worked here longer" our boss explained.
"How long will it take?" I asked.
"Ages" my boss replied. I glanced at the time to see it was 8pm and I knew I was no where near ready to go home, let alone to have dinner with Sal.
"I'm gonna head home" Graham said.
"Okay, night" I said to him, a bit frustration in my voice as he's just left to me to do it all entirely by myself. He soon left as I began working as fast as I could. I decided to ring Sal to tell him I wouldn't be home.
"Hey babe" Sal began. "Are you on your way?" He asked.
"Nowhere near. I'm not gonna make it. Graham has left me with all he work to do!" I whined.
"Ahh okay" Sal said then hung up.It was now roughly 9pm and I was still working. Everyone in the entire building has went home, but I was still working. There was a knock on my office door and then it slowly opened, revealing Sal with a basket in his hand.
"What are you doing here??" I asked him.
"If you can't make it to dinner, dinner will come to you" Sal said with a warm smile. He lit a few candles, and laid a picnic blanket on the floor. He held out his hand and I sat next to him. We both laid down, each of us resting on our elbows, looking at each other.
"I've missed you so much" I said to him. "I've spent so much time in this place, I hardly see you" I complained, holding hands with Sal.
"That's why I've booked us a mini holiday this weekend" Sal revealed. "Just me and you.. no work, no stress... just us" Sal revealed. I have him a smile
"That's the best surprise you've ever given me" I said to him.
"Your the best thing to ever happen to me" Sal said, moving some hear from my face, trailing his hand down to my rock, pulling me in for a kiss.
"I love you" Sal whispered.
"I love you so much more than you'll ever know" I replied. When me and Sal got home it was around 11pm, so we went straight to bed. We wrapped up really closely to each other. Sal wrapped his arms around me as I rested my head on his chest.
'I love him so much..' I thought to myself as I drifted off to sleep.
