Liam invited Dinah and me to his house because there was a special occasion. As much as I rejected coming, I missed this place. I miss the people. I miss my own room. It's crazy to think that I would miss so much because it was only a week since I left. Plus, it's a special occasion. It would be rude not to come.

After Liam parked the car, I exited the car first and walked into the house. In the kitchen, I saw Gloria and Sandra setting up the table. I resumed walking to them until they acknowledge my presence. Gloria smiled brightly and exclaimed, "Ally!" I speeded over to her and Sandra and gave them a hug.

"Hey," I responded back, taking a step back.

"How've you been?" Gloria asked.

"Well," I responded. "I missed you guys."

"We missed you, too," Sandra said.

Gloria observe the place as if she was making sure someone was not around. "How are you and Boss? Have you two gotten together yet?"

I sigh lightly, not wanting to answer her question. "No, Dinah and him are together," my response made her smile fade a little, but I know she will be supportive of their relationship.

"And how are you taking it?" Sandra asked.

"I'm fine with it," I told them. "I don't need to worry about them. I got my own issues to think about." I hesitated a little. I didn't want them to know the truth. It would be a lot harder on me if I spoke.

"Are you sure you're fine?" Sandra questioned.

"Yeah, I know how much you like him," Gloria added.

I shook my head and notice something. "Wait. How do you guys know that I like your Boss?"

"Well, do you?" Gloria asked.

"Yeah—" I answered, not really thinking about it.

"Ha, you just admit," Gloria pointed, making me feel so gullible. "You like my boss. You like my boss...you like my boss." She continued on to sing that.

"Okay," I interrupted her singing. "I do like your Boss, but he is with Dinah. And I am okay with it."

"Okay," Gloria and Sandra said in unison.

"So what's today's special occasion?" I asked.

"It's Quincy's birthday, and Boss is letting him have a break for today," Gloria explained.

"He's turning 21," Sandra said.

"Do you guys need any help?"

"Well, if you want, you can help bake the cake," Gloria said.

I headed over to the kitchen and tied an apron around my waist. Gloria got out the ingredients and the instructions. She informed me to follow the instructions carefully, and if I had any trouble, I should ask her.

I began adding flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda together. In a separate bowl, I whisk up eggs, butter, and vanilla extract together and then mixed the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.

As I stir the ingredients together, my mind begin to think of the passed several weeks. A month ago, I was with someone else. I had almost everything, and then, it all went away. I sacrificed a lot of things to get to where I am now, and honestly, it feels absolutely confusing. I don't know if I am happy or upset. I don't know if I like this or not. I got to meet amazing people. I had someone who took care of me, but now, he is with someone else because of me.

Why does this always happen? Even in those movies, the main character sets aside so that their friend could be happy. I am Damon from the first part and Stefan from the last. I am the Salvatore brothers. And there is nothing that I can do to change that.
