Two days passed, and Liam and I haven't talked to each other about the conversation. We ignore each other, but I really need to know how and what he is feeling.
I stared at the snow globe in front of me. Dinah and I were shopping for Christmas presents. However, our cart was filled up with a lot of cute dresses and jewelries. Aside from those, we got our mistletoe and our own individual Christmas presents to our girls and Liam. I bought something also for Gloria and her family.
Dinah and I already bought our presents to one another earlier before; we hid them in the car.
I held out in front of me a list of some items Gloria asked me to fetch. Most of it contained baking ingredients. Everything on the list was completed.
Dinah walked alongside as I stroll the cart to the check registers. We waited in line, and in a couple of minutes, I heard them playing on one of my favorite Christmas songs: All I Want For Christmas is You. I begin to slightly sing before we were called upon to the cashiers. Dinah and I handed each item to the cashier.
"Ally," Dinah said. I raised my head and made eye contact with her. "Are you still mad at me?"
I inhaled a breath and replied, "Dinah, we've already been over this. I am not mad at you. Otherwise, you would probably receive a terrible gift from me." Dinah nodded, and I pointed to her, adding, "Besides, you're lucky that it is Christmas time."
"Okay, I don't need your sass," Dinah said. I shrugged and gave her an apologetic look.
"That will be $78.96," the cashier informed. Dinah got out her wallet and handed the cashier her debit card.
"I didn't mean to hurt you," Dinah said.
I sighed and placed my hands on her shoulders and whispered, "Dinah, I know." I eyed her to the cashier to let her know that I didn't want to talk in front of them.
"We'll be talking in the car," Dinah stated, and I nodded.
"Yes," I said in return. I grabbed the multiple full bags and hung them over my arms. Dinah put the cart up, and we made our way to Liam's car. He allowed us to borrow the car. Dinah unlocked the door, and we placed our groceries in the back.
I offered to drive, but Dinah didn't allow. I sat myself down in the passenger seat up front and pulled the seat belt. I clicked it into position and turned on Bluetooth. I scrolled through my playlist and clicked a Christmas tune.
"Okay, Ally, now talk," Dinah said. I remained silent. "Come on, Ally, tell me. What's going on? Are you mad at me or not?"
I sighed heavily and replied slowly, "I just never thought someone I trust would lie to me just so I could be with a guy."
"Well, since you put it like that, I know it was selfish of me to do it, but I was really only thinking about you. That Troy had no idea what he lost, but I know that Liam will treat you better," Dinah said. "Ally, just give him a chance. I want you to be happy. That's why I did this."
"I want to give him a chance, but I don't know if he does."
"Didn't he confess to you?" Dinah questioned. I nodded. "Just go talk to him. I'm sure you will have mutual opinions. And another thing, do you still want to leave?"
"I am not quite sure anymore," I replied. "I think we should head back." Dinah agreed and turned on the engine.
Liam's POV
I sat in the living room, thinking. Ally likes me. I couldn't be anymore happier, but there was Cheryl. I can't. Maybe I should break it off with her. That was the reason why I was here in the first place. I needed to think things through with us, but now, I know.
