Ally's POV
Words cannot describe what I felt during that night. And I could not stop replaying the scene over and over in my head. The way he held me in his arms. The way his skin felt when he grabbed my hands into his. And the way he bent down on his knees. Every bit of it was incredible and unbelievable.
Liam and I spent a couple days with one another in the passed couple of weeks. We travel through the mall with Dinah and Harry a couple of times. Cheryl, one of Harry and Liam's friend, left after Christmas. I was bummed. I really wanted to know her, but it was probably for the best.
Liam and I have not had our very first date, mainly because he wanted it to be special. I've waited about three weeks now, but he hasn't made a move yet. I'll keep on waiting until he is ready.
Right now, I am reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë in the kitchen. So far, I'm in the fifth chapter, and the pace is steady. I am just wondering when she is going to grow up. Dinah had given me this book as a present for Christmas. She wrote a note, saying that it was relatable. I didn't understand exactly what she meant by that, considering Jane's situation.
There was a noise distracting me from reading. I shift my eyes to Dinah and Harry in the living room. They were playing with one another on the couch. I couldn't help but listen in on their conversation, especially since they were speaking above an average volume, and this apartment was small and tight.
"Do you really have to go?" Dinah whined.
Harry intertwines their hands together, tightening his grip. "It won't be long. I just have to go back for my friend. His birthday is coming up."
"Let me come with you," she suggested.
"You know your aunt won't let you come back just for me,"
"I can convince her," Dinah said with a grin.
"No, it's not right, sweetie," he said. "I want to be a good influence." Dinah nodded, blushing a bit and understanding. I chuckled a little, although it sounded like a cough. Her eyes dart at me, making me instantly look back at my book.
In the corner of my eyes, I see Dinah coming towards me until she passes the table. "Ally, you didn't hear that, right?"
I wasn't going to lie to her. I set the book down on the table and press my hands against the pages to make it hold still. "I'm sorry, but I couldn't stop listening."
"He is so..." Dinah began, not sure on how to put the sentence together. "...sweet and nice. I question so much. Like if I should be with him. He's too good for me."
I shake my head. "No, Dinah, you two are meant to be. You just got to believe in yourself. Be more confident with your feelings." Dinah nods, taking in my words.
I turned back to Jane Eyre. Not even finishing a sentence, I hear Dinah question, "Why are you here? It's a Friday night."
"I am currently residing here, reading a book that you gave me," I gave her the most obvious answer.
"You know what I mean," Dinah said, serious. "Aren't you and Liam have something to do tonight?"
"Liam is busy with his works," I answered her. "He's been busy ever since Christmas, and I don't want to be clingy."
"What work?" Dinah questioned.
I slightly shrug. "He didn't say anything specific. I just know it is important."
"More important than you? His girlfriend?" Dinah pointed out. "Has he even asked you out yet?"
I let out a breath, answering her, "No, he hasn't. But I understand because I know he is going to make it up to me."
