To clarify, Ally suspects that Liam and Kris might switch places, so Liam might be pretending to be Kris.
Okay, now on with the story.
I open my eyes, seeing my vision clear up, with something holding my hand. My eyes trail to the hand that was in his hand. I bat my eyes, looking at him sleeping. His head leaned against the headboard as his elbow and arm rested on a pillow.
I remove my hand, feeling a sense of embarrassment. My movement cause him to wake up as well. I grab the sheets and pull them up to my chest.
He sits up straight, batting his eyes. He clears his throat and turns away from me. "I'm sorry," he begins. "You fainted, so I took you upstairs in your room. I was going to head out, but I heard you talk in your sleep. You said something concerning, and it worried me. I decided to stick around, and I guess I must've fallen asleep." He looks back at me.
I nod my head, looking at him curiously. "Just don't let it happen again," I reply. I turn away from him and stare at the ground.
"You probably want to go to the hospital again, I presume," he says.
I quickly lift my head and face him. I shake my head. "No," I said, almost too immediately. I can hear the fear in my voice. "I mean, I-I just don't feel like going there at the moment."
His eyes trail down to my feet, making me feel uncomfortable. I remove my feet off the bed, feeling a stinging sensation on my ankle. I yelp.
He crawls on the bed and grabs my arm. "Are you alright? What happen to your foot?" he asks, creasing his brow. I widen my eyes, feeling something pounding in my stomach. "I notice your foot last night when you fainted."
"Oh, I just I fell on my ankle yesterday," I answer casually. Although if I was him, I probably wouldn't believe it myself.
"Really?" He said, uncertain. I nod my head, but somehow he did not believe it. He furrow his eyebrows more before an idea comes inside his head. "Did he hurt you?" I shake my head immediately, denying him. But he went on, "Ally, tell me the truth. He did hurt you. I will need to have a conversation with him."
"Kris, it's fine," I reply. "You are just going to provoke him. Liam doesn't even recognize me, so he probably won't listen."
"No, his attitude is totally unacceptable," Kris rages on. "You are his wife. You are..." He pause for a moment. He takes a breath and nods his head a little. "And you shouldn't have to put up with him."
I widen my eyes, seeing a clearer look of Kris. How surprise I am. "Why are so nice to me?" I ask. I mean, I prefer him to nice to me, but it's odd. He suddenly has a change in attitude once his brother is at the hospital. Especially at this pace.
"Pardon?" he questions.
I explain, "In the beginning, you were so closed off with me. You never spoke no more than a sentence or two to me. And then suddenly, you are helping me? It's really hard to distinguish the kind of person that you are. Can you tell me why you change so sudden?"
His eyes that once met mine shifts to a different direction. His silence gives me nothing. He just quietly stares at the wall before shifting his sight back on me. And even then, he didn't make a sound. He didn't even try to explain to me. Unless...
What I thought last night could be true? Kris is Liam. That's the only explanation that I am given, and I will take it rather than a no answer. If Kris is Liam, does this mean that Liam is Kris at the hospital? And does this mean that I am being lied to again? And for what reason?
