I looked at the time. It was around a quarter before twelve. Zayn should be here anytime now.
I looked over to the kitchen, where Dinah was. She was 'making' lunch when really she was ordering takeouts from Braum's. Hopefully, she doesn't give too much attention to Zayn when he is here. Dinah can get boy crazy at times.
She set the pen down on the counter and finished talking on the phone. "Thanks..." she finished off. She hung up and walked into the living room. She sat on the spot right next to me. "Okay, so this boy..."
I groaned. When will she stop talking about this? She has been trying to get me to talk since this morning, and it is getting annoying. "Dinah, please," I pleaded. "Can't you just let this go. You will know when he arrives and it is almost time."
Dinah nodded. "Okay, but after you guys are done talking, I want the details." I nodded obediently.
A notification popped up on my phone. It was text message from Zayn. He texted:
Hey, Camila. I will be there shortly. Sorry if you are waiting. I am caught in traffic, but don't worry about me.
I opened up my phone and texted him back.
Okay. Hope you will be alright.
I shut off my phone as I hear a knock on the door. Dinah rushed to it and was disappointed yet excited to see Lauren. Lauren greeted the both of us. She was holding a big bag.
"Hey," I replied back.
"Sorry to drop in here, but I had to give you something," Lauren said to me while looking back at Dinah. There was something going on by the way they stared at one another. Lauren turned to me and handed me the bag. "Here."
I accepted the bag and peeked into it. My mind was instantly irritated. Inside the bag, there was a beautiful purple sparkly dress. I grabbed it out of the bag and held so I could see the whole dress. "This...this..." I was speechless. I didn't know how I should respond. I looked at Lauren. She had this grin on her face and so did Dinah. It's finally when I put the pieces together that I shook my head repeatedly while saying, "No, no, no..."
"Come on, Camz," Lauren spoke.
I still shook my head. "I am not wearing this on the double date." I started to fold the dress.
"Come on, you need this," Dinah stated. "You have nothing good in your closet." I dropped my jaw, taking some offense in her words. Dinah corrected herself, "Sorry, I meant that you have nothing fancy in closet. It's full of jackets, sweaters, cardigans, and t-shirts."
"So?" I questioned.
"It's just not going-on-a-date material. No offense," she explained.
"Doesn't mean that you said that that it won't be offensive," I stated.
"Anyway," Lauren began as she changed the subject. "Who are the boys and tell me how you met them?" Lauren adjust her spot on the couch.
Dinah spoke up. "I met them at my previous job and they are super cute. One is British and the other is Irish."
Lauren nodded, proudly. "Nice. When does it start?"
Dinah crossed her arms, and while making glances at me, she explained, "We were suppose to have lunch with them around this time, but Camila had plans when some boy, so now they are coming around five."
Lauren nodded with surprise. "Really? Who is this boy?" she asked with much mystery and curiosity.
"She won't tell me anything," Dinah said. "She is so secretive about it and it makes me feel as if she is just making it up so that she won't be able to go on the double date."
