I waited outside the emergency room with Dinah. I paced myself to not panic and think positively. Liam has to be alright. He has got to.

Dinah held onto my hand, and I looked at her. She smiled. "Hey, he's going to be okay," she assured me. I nodded as a response. I didn't want to talk right now. There was just too much going on in my head.

Minutes later, the doctors finally came out. Dinah and I stood up. "How is he?" she asked.

"He is free from harm," he spoke. I let out a breath of relief. "Although, I do have to say that he is in a coma and we don't know how long it will be until he wakes up."

"Doctor," I managed to say. "Can we see him?"

"Yes, but please don't disturb him," the doctor said before walking away.

Dinah jumped a little. I was still processing everything. "Ally, did you hear? Liam will be okay," she said. And I heard it too and that just made me a thousand times happy and relieved.

"Yeah," I nodded. "He is okay."

We both walked into the room, observing the entire room. Dinah went to go use the bathroom while I sat down on the couch, waiting. I looked at Liam. His eyes were closed, but somehow I felt like he was still awake. A part of me does feel that. There was a lot of things that I wanted to say to him. I wanted to thank him and say some more things that I wouldn't possibly have the courage to tell him in person.

I stood up and pulled a chair. I strolled it next to his bed and sat down. My eyes flew to the side of his right body, where the wound was. I shook my head at this tragedy. Why? Why did he try to save me?

He was angry at me when I left. And then he just risked his life for me. Just...why?

I picked up his hand and intertwined it with mine. I pulled our hands closer to my face until I felt it upon my cheek. His touch still gave me warmth. I didn't know what I would be feeling if he wasn't so lucky. We just began our friendship.

"Ally, do you ha—" I heard Dinah's voice. I quickly released my hand and stood from the chair. I looked at her and see that she was making some kind of eye contact with me. I knew she was feeling suspicious.

"Yes?" I questioned her question.

"Do you have a hair tie that I could use?" Dinah asked.

I nodded and grabbed a hair tie out of my purse.

Dinah looked at Liam while tying her hair. "How long do you think it will be before he wakes up?" she asked me as she finishes her hair.

I shrugged before answering. "I just hope it won't be long. I can't stand seeing him in this condition."

"Yeah, it sucks," Dinah said, sitting at the edge of the mattress. "Too bad we can't communicate with him."

"Yeah..." I said. I looked at him and suddenly, I had an idea.

I took out my phone and went on the message icon. I scroll until I saw Liam's name. I clicked it and begin texting.

Hey, Liam. I hope you are feeling better when you wake up.

"What are you doing?" Dinah questioned.

"I am messaging Liam so when he wakes up, he'll see them and know what we've been doing," I explained. "Come on, I'll give you his number."

Dinah shook his head. "I don't think so," she said and that got me flustered.

I nudged her a little on the arm and responded, "Weren't you the one who wanted to go out with him?"
