It was the next morning and I was all set to go. Cassie had given me a luggage for me to keep. I texted Dinah the address and she should be here in a couple of minutes. Andy and Desti volunteered to carry my luggage and bag down the stairs.
"You know, I am going to miss you," Andy said and it had warmed my heart knowing that someone care. "You were like Ms. Boss. You spent a lot of time with Boss."
I shook my head a little. "Please, I'm not Ms. Boss."
"Sure you are," Andy said. "Everyone says that you are."
Desti spoke, "You two hang out for the most part and I've never seen the way that he look at you. It was intimate." She started to sound like Camila.
"Okay then," I responded as we took our final steps down the stairs.
Andy and Desti set my things down and stood shoulder to shoulder. "Hey, where are you going?"
I folded my arms and smile a little. I didn't want to make it seem like it was bad news. "I'm leaving for a while."
"Are you coming back?" Desti asked.
"I hope so," I replied. Around the corner of my eyes, I could see Liam standing against the wall, listening in to the conversation. "I'm going to miss this place. I'm going to miss you two, Gloria, Sandra, Cassie, and their brothers."
Desti and Andy exchange looks. "What about Boss?" Desti questioned.
I nodded and answered, "I'm going to miss your Boss. Definitely." They both smile again.
Andy raised a finger and asked, "Why exactly are you leaving?"
I tried to smile, so that I wouldn't upset them. "I don't want to be a burden to some people," I began. I glanced at Liam to see his reaction. We made eye contact, but he didn't seem to be bother by my words. I couldn't read his expression. It was blank. "I understand their issue, but I think I'm stressing them out too much."
"Is it Gloria?" Desti blurted out. Andy looked his younger sister with widened eyes. Desti slowly close and cover her mouth. I let out a small chuckle.
I shook my head. "No. It's really not a big problem. I accept their decisions and choices. I know that they work hard so they could help others out and I don't want to be in the way of that. I only wish them good fortune." I could hear my voice cracking. My eyes were getting puffy as my throat began to ache. I am definitely going to miss him.
"Sounds like a goodbye to me..." Desti said out, but I didn't pay much attention to her or their little sibling argument. All I could think about was Liam. I had the urge to look at him, but I steady my breath and controlled myself.
I listened to their conversation and interrupted, "Hey, guys. You don't need to argue over this."
Andy and Desti nodded. I opened up my arms and they both hugged me. I gave them a tight squeeze before I broke the embrace.
"We'll leave you be," Andy spoke. They both lowered their head and bowed a little before walking away.
I turned to the corner and saw Liam. We made eye contact once more. In his eyes, I could sense sadness. There was something else in his eyes other than that. He seemed to be relieved. I didn't know exactly what or why.
He straightened his posture and in that moment, he was going to open up his mouth and say something, but something had forced him not to. Instead, he turned and walked away.
I followed him, and I eventually ended up in the same park as last night. Liam had his back to me. "Hey," I said softly.
He turned around and was shook to see me here. He didn't speak a word. He just stared at me and I knew that he probably wasn't going to answer or speak to me anytime soon.
