Don't know when I'll be posting it, but it's coming. My eyes flutter open. A moment later, I realize that I am in a car. The sun is setting as I observe my entire surrounding. Liam is in the driver's seat, steering the wheel. And then it hit me. I must've fallen asleep.
I faced the side of the window, but I shift my position towards him and smile. Even when he's concentrated, he is still cute. The way his eyes reflected the sunset and his hands steady on the wheels.
"Have a good nap, little angel?" he ask with small smirk, his eyes still focus on the road.
I cover my mouth, yawning and stretching my arms out a little. "What time is it?"
"5:13," he answers, pointing at the digital clock above the temperature. "We're almost there."
"How long was I sleeping?" I ask as I sit up straight against the seat.
"About an hour and a half," he reply. I nod, feeling zoned out. I rub my eyes gently.
"So, how was your nap?" He asks again. "Did you dream anything?"
"It was fairly decent," I said. "And no, I didn't."
"Funny," He said with a chuckle before making a right turn.
"What?"
"You were screaming out: Liam! Help! Help!" He said, mimicking me. "It startled me for a second before I realize you were sleeping. You don't remember?"
I try to recall the possible dream, but nothing sticks out. "No, I don't," I reply.
Liam pulls up into the driveway and park his car. I look out the window and see my house. It feels like it has been the longest time since I've seen my house. Nothing has change except for the Christmas lights dangling from the rooftop. To be honest, I am kind of nervous. It does not really feel like my home anymore. It feels like I sold it to someone, and I'm just revisiting it. I feel so connected to the mansion and Aunt Lana's apartment that I kind of forgot I had this house with Camila. Camila, oh boy. I hope she is doing well.
I jump at the sound of Liam's hoarse and low voice, "Are you ready?"
I turn to him and nod. "Yeah," I reply before shifting my sight at the house. "It's just been a long time since I saw this house. But now that I'm seeing it, I miss it."
I shift my attention back at Liam, and I give him a smile. He returns the smile and places his hand on mine, squeezing it lightly. "Alright," He said before releasing my hand and unbuckling his seatbelt. As he comes over to my side, I unbuckle my seatbelt and grab my purse. Liam opens the door, and I thank him, walking out. Liam shuts the door and opens the back trunk. Instead of fighting who was going to grab my luggage, he immediately takes my suitcase from the trunk and slams the door down. He locks the car and comes towards me. I situate my purse on my left shoulder while my right hand is occupy by Liam's hand.
We stand in front of the door and knock, waiting for someone to open. I look at the door knob and see that it was different. Instead of the silver, it was now gold and shinier than usual. Lauren and Camila must have gotten a new door knob. Good thing.
The door swings open and right in front of us stands Lauren. I scream childishly before running into her arms and giving her a quick but friendly hug. "It's been so long," I said.
"I know," Lauren responds. "It feels like a decade. So how are you?"
"Great," I said before lifting my eye on Liam, who stood in silent.
