I look outside the window. The sight of the beautiful bright sky no longer gives me warmth. The soothing music from the radio were like nails on a chalkboard. Nothing feels right like they use to. And it's only been a couple of days since my father ordered a wedding for Will and me.
Since we were getting marry, my father wanted us to spend some time to catch up on each other's lives. Will is taking me to the outdoor mall. He wanted to take me shopping, but I didn't feel like it. When we arrive, we enter the mall.
"Where do you want to go first?" He asks.
"You can choose," I reply.
"Okay," he says, pulling me into a random clothing store.
He leads me into an aisle of dresses and grabs a hanger. It was a decent white dress with a pink flower pattern. It was pretty but not my kind of style. I shake my head. He throws it back on the rack and picks a new blue leather dress. I shake my head once more. This trend continue for a while until I decided to let him buy me some clothes I did not really favor for the sake of time. It was because I was getting hungry and because I feel bad for him trying to pick out my kind of clothing.
As we stand in line for the cashier, I could not help but notice a cute couple walking out of the store, struggling to decide who should carry the bag. I smile a little, seeing Liam and me doing that in the past. How he wanted to hold the bag, but I didn't want him because he already paid for the clothing. In the end, he carried it.
After Will paid for my clothes, we walk down to another store with me holding onto the bags. I pace myself, gently holding onto my stomach as I walk. There was so many good scents in the atmosphere. I can smell bacon, sausage, tomato sauce, funnel cake, and many more amazing scents. I can seriously eat anything right now.
My stomach growls, and I pray that he didn't hear it, but he did. He turns back to me and smiles, "Are you hungry?"
I would lie, but I need something to digest. "Yeah, sort of," I answer.
He looks in front before setting his eyes back on me. "So where do you want to eat?" He asks.
"I'm fine with anything," I answer.
I feel so guilty. He's a nice guy who wants to get to know me, but I'm not communicating with him. I just cannot move on when I still want to be with Liam.
"How about that restaurant over there?" He questions, pointing to a sign called Granny's Diner. I nod my head for approval.
We walk pass many storefronts. I look through one of the restaurants and see a small arcade. By the window was a ping pong table with what seem to be another couple. The girl was desperate to beat the guy. She swings as hard as she could but misses the table every time. I chuckle a little.
"What?" I turn to Will, who raise an eyebrow.
"Nothing," I answer.
We resume walking while eyes are still set on the ping pong game. The girl finally calms down and pays attention to the paddle and the ball. With one swing, the girl hits the ball, and it bounces off the guy's side. The guy quickly recounter but misses the ball. The girl jumps up in victory, giving a little victory dance. Her face glows, proud that she finally got a point.
My eyes tear up a little, seeing myself in a third person point of view. However, in my case, it was air hockey.
His eyes were focused on the plastic puck. Nothing was distracting him. He moved his handle and shoots the puck towards me. It was coming into the hole. My legs were shaking, and I was getting anxious, but I held onto the handle tight and swing the puck back at him. I watched as he tried to counterattack but missed, giving me a score. My heart rate dropped, and I acknowledged what had just happen. I won. I just won. I beat him.
