I don't own any of the songs.
Updated today. Hope you guys enjoy.
Ally's POV
Gloria and I were decorating the cake. It's been nice working with her. She really knows her stuff, and I want her to teach me. She carefully wrote on the cake with sugar frosting. "You have to be careful. Baking is all about time. It's about how much effort you put into it to make it beautiful," she explained. "When I was little, my mom would always tell me that if you put love in it, the outcome will always be what you want it to be. I know it's a little bit cheesy, but it works. Most of the time."
I followed along as she finished. I looked at the final piece. I loved it. The cake was chocolate with buttercream frosting. Gloria had imprinted 'Wish You Well, Boss.' It still amazed me how they call Liam Boss. I never heard anyone of them say his name. In fact, I don't even know his last name.
"Hey, why don't you guys ever call your boss by his real name?" I asked.
She set down the bag of frosting and answered, "We used to...but then he grew up. His dad told us to call him Boss ever since he turned eighteen. It probably did made sense, but...I don't know. I don't argue about it because I get twenty dollars every week."
"So what is your boss's real name?" I asked. I know I could go and asked him myself, but I feel like he won't answer me. And I do feel bad changing the subject.
"I can't say," she shook her head. "I'm not allowed too." I nodded, probably it was for the best.
Gloria then turned her head and eyes up. Something attracted her attention from behind me. She went back to lowering her head. "Hello, Boss."
I turned around and was startled by his presence. He looked confused. I touched my heart, hoping he didn't hear our conversation.
"Excuse me, Gloria, but can I talk to your assistant, please?" He asked a little harsh.
Gloria and I exchange looks. I guess he was talking about me. Gloria nodded once before walking away. I wanted to escape too by the looks that he was sending me. Suddenly, he grabbed my hand and walked me upstairs. He stopped somewhere in the middle of the hallway.
"What was all that about?" He asked me after he let go of my hand.
"I know, but I just wanted to know," I confessed. "I'm sorry. It won't happen again."
He seemed slightly amused by my answer. "What are you talking about?"
What was he talking about? If he didn't hear our conversation, what else would it be? "Pardon me, but why did you drag me here for?"
"Remember when you told me that Dinah came up with the idea?" He said. I nodded casually before realizing what he just said. Oh, geez. "I came to her and thanked her for the party and her idea. But then she said something that intrigued me. She said that she didn't come up with it. You did."
I covered my face with my hands and shook my head before releasing them. "Please, don't be mad that I lied to you. It wasn't really my intention."
He crossed his arms and asked, "Then why did you?"
I steadied my breath and replied, "You see, before the whole incident, Dinah wanted to ask you out. But then you got hurt, so she decided not to go for you anymore. I don't know exactly why, but that's what she told me. She deserved someone great and you are great. Actually, you're amazing. She needs someone like you in her life. To always help her and protect her like you always do with me. She deserves someone like you and you deserve someone like her. She's loving, adorable, and beautiful from the inside and out."
