Four days before the big one. Butterflies invaded my stomach. A nervous wreck I was. I pace myself slowly, looking at the rear view mirror. My dad, my mom, and Brandon are all seated in the back.

They arrive at the airport yesterday. They stayed at my house. My parents resided in my room while Brandon got the guest bedroom. Honestly, that house has too many rooms. There were three bedrooms and a bathroom in each floor. I'm still wondering how we manage to pay the house still, considering Camila and I don't work.

Anyway, today is the day. I am meeting Liam's dad for the first time. Although, he said that I will be familiar with him. I don't see what he means, but what can I say? I haven't even seen him yet.

But that's not what I am worry about. It's my parents. Well, my dad. I wish everything goes well. If not, there's going to be a lot of family issues in the future. But I shouldn't really doubt my dad. He's been really supportive lately.

I breathe in and out constantly and quietly, waiting until we arrive at the restaurant. I glance my eyes to the left and watch Liam make a turn to the right. He slows down and pulls into a parking lot a couple yards away from a building.

Once he shifts the gears into park, he turns off the ignition, and everyone makes their way out of the car. All of us follow Liam inside the building. He leads us onto one of the floors and into a room on the left. Inside, I see Nicola, another elder lady sitting next to a guy, and an elder guy who looks to be their father. His eyes. I feel like we met before.

"Please sit," the man said.

Liam led my parents to their seats. My brother sits by mom and I take the seat beside him. Liam makes his away over to the empty seat next to me.

"Good evening," the man starts. "My name is Geoff Payne. These are my daughters, Ruth and Nicola, and my son-in-law. I'm sure all of you met Liam, and Kris, my other son, couldn't be here today. He has some work to finish."

"Thank you for having us, Geoff," my dad speaks. "I'm Jerry Hernandez. This is my wife, Patricia, my son, Brandon, and my daughter, Allyson. But most people call her Ally."

Geoff looks at me, and he shares the same curiosity that I have about him.

"Um, excuse me," He asks me. "Have we met?" I tilt my head, not knowing how to answer. "You look like the girl who nursed me when I was in the hospital."

I think for a second before I recognized him. My mind refreshes to the memories at the hospital when I use to volunteer. "Oh, yes. I remember you now. Funny how time flies, right?" I let out a big chuckle, which was too embarrass to come back to; I play with the button on my purse.

"Yeah," He said, sounding unsure. "How funny life turned out from that conversation we had." He eyes Liam, chuckling himself.

I refresh my mind to our conversation that day when I volunteered. Oh, how ironic it is today.

He looked at my hand and sighed, seeing the ring that Troy had given to me. "I have a son named Kris," Geoff said. "You and him would get along. It's still not too late."

I chuckled a little. "I am not sure. I don't think I'm ready for commitment yet."

"Well, when you're ready, I'll be waiting for to call you my daughter-in-law," he said. Camila nudges me on my back softly.

I nodded. I don't think that's ever going to happen. Considering my love life, I found it impossible for me to settle down with someone and have a life with them. It just doesn't seem like me because I'm bad at love. Always been and always will be.
