"sorry" i look at jack and he scoffs
"whatever" he walks away and i feel my heart shatter, i can't believe i broke up with him, well we weren't really dating but we did have a thing and i just wasn't feeling it so i called quits
i watch him walk out and i close the door shut and look at soph, she frowns "are you okay?" she ask
"yea i am it wasn't that serious" i admit and sit on my bed as she sits on her brothers
joey left this morning and i don't know where he went off too and i don't fucking care at all. i have this weird feeling inside me, a gut feeling and i just want to jump off a cliff
i take a deep breath and look at soph, "you need ice cream" she stands from joeys bed and walks to the front door "you coming?" she ask
"sure" i walk towards her
i don't talk the whole ride to ralph's, soph tries to start a conversation but i dodge them all, i'm just not in a good mood and i have no idea why, i really don't know why
she parks the car and i follow her inside, "what type of ice cream do you like?" she ask and i look at all my options
"i'm feeling minty" i grab a bowl of chocolate mint ice cream and she smiles "that's my favorite flavor" she winks and i fake a smile
i open it in the aisle and she stares at me digging my hand in it and eating out of the ice cream we didn't pay for
"this is so good" my hands are freezing from how cold the ice cream is but this is amazing
i watch as shoppers stare me down and soph fakes a laugh and tells them that i went through a intense break up, they look away and i groan
"soph" i sigh
"yes?"
"i hate lily" i admit and she rolls her eyes playfully
"i know kels, now stop eating that we're in public this is so embarrassing" she pulls the tub from my hand and i whimper
before i yell at her for that i look in her eyes and see joey, she looks just like him it's crazy
"sorry i'm just, do you ever just want to jump from a plane and fall on your face?" i stare at her waiting for a response
"are you drunk?" she ask and my eyes widen
"i've never drank and you know that" i lick the ice cream off my fingers
"i think you need some alcohol right now" she puts the tub of ice cream on the floor and pulls my arm to the drink aisle
i feel bad for not paying for the ice cream but then again i also don't, i watch soph scan the drinks and she picks out 3
"tonight is going to be the best night of your life" she looks at the drinks then at me
"soph i'm scared"
"don't worry i'll be right next to you" she walks to the cash register and pays for the drinks, the lady checking out the items looks at me and my fingers that were dripping from ice cream
"what?" i look at her and she looks away and gives soph the drinks
"come on" soph grabs my wrist and pulls me out the store and into her car
it's freezing outside right now but the wind feels so amazing, i get in the car and she pops open a drink, "here" she hands me it and i take it from her and take a sniff of it
