"jaden, jaden!" my eyes widen
he smiles and wraps his arms around me, "how have you been?" i ask him
"i've been great! i came back for break but i'm going back in a few weeks, you?"
"i've been better! and you aren't celebrating with your parents?"
"neither are you" he points out
"true" i giggle
"do you want to go outside? it's so hard to breathe in here" he ask
"yea let's go"
he puts his hand on my lower back and guides me to the backyard, i quickly turn around to tell jacob but noticed he was already gone but i made eye contact with joey instead
i quickly turn back around and step outside, i follow wherever jaden was going
it's way nicer outside and jessica's backyard wasn't as packed as it was inside. jaden sits down on the couch and i sit next to him
"i really thought i'd never see you again" he says
"i almost forgot about you" i joke and he laughs
the door opens and joey and emily walk out, joey sees us and takes emily to the other side of the backyard where joeys friends were
"so what happened with you guys?" jaden points to joey
"i left WSC, he got a whole fiancé now" i roll my eyes
"that girl? they're engaged?" his eyes widen
"yup" i pop the p
"wow she's beautiful"
i look away from jaden and look down at my cup, "yea she is"
"how long have they been together?" he ask
"2 years"
"he kept a relationship for 2 years?" jaden laughs and i laugh as well
"i know right? never thought he could be capable of that" i play with the hem of my sweater
"he was an asshole anyway" jaden looks back at me with a smile on his face
"how's arizona?"
"boring, hot." he says
i giggle, "are you ever going to move here?"
"i'm planning on it, we only have a year left of college" he reminds me and my heart drops
"can't believe it went by that fast"
"yea, it's crazy" he agrees
"a lot can happen in 2 years" i look at emily then back at joey
jaden puts his hand on my thigh, "you look beautiful tonight, different"
"different?" i tilt my head to the side and feel my cheeks flare up
he snickers, "yes, did you dye your hair? cut it? new tan?"
i roll my eyes at him playfully, "i dyed my hair lighter" i'm glad he noticed
"it looks great on you"
"thank you jaden, and you got a perm?"
he runs his hand through his hair, "yup, i don't like my straight hair"
"what? i loved it on you"
he takes a sip from his drink, "nah, i feel powerful with my hair like this"
