"wake up kelsey" my mom knocks on my door
i pull myself out of bed with all the energy i had left in me before opening the door and walking into the kitchen
jacobs family is already at our house eating food and drinking tea
lily runs up to me with her new christmas present, "look what my mom bought me"
she had a barbie in her hand, "cool"
"what did you get" she ask
"i got the limited edition princess barbie" i smile at her and her jaw drops
"kelsey, i made you some pancakes" my moms tells me
i walk away from lily and sit down next to jacob. we were both eating the same thing except he was almost finished with his plate
"are you excited" he ask me
"for what"
"new years" he says
i nod
my mom sits down next to me and kisses my cheek, "look what amanda got you"
amanda, jacob and lily's mom, gives me a small box that is wrapped in red
"we unfortunately couldn't make it to your christmas party so i bought you something you may like" amanda says
lily sits down next to her mom and waits for me to open the gift
i rip apart the wrapping paper and open the box slowly. it was a silver braclet with bear charms
"it's beautiful" my mom says, taking the braclet from the box and putting it on my wrist
it was a bit big on me, "it'll fit once you get older" amanda laughs
my mom laughs with her, i look at my mom and smile at her, "i love it"
my mom kisses my head, "me too"
my dad comes over and looks at the braclet, "it's beautiful amanda, thank you"
amanda smiles, "of course, i bought lily the same one. it's like a friendship braclet"
jacob grabs my hand and looks at it as well, his small hands barely wrap around my arm
we spent the whole day together, jacob and lily were always over.
our parents could talk all day and never get sick of each other
lily, jacob, and i were always in my backyard playing on my trampoline or playing hopscotch
lily and i would constantly fight and she'd go cry to her mom and blame it on me
i would get embarrassed and go to my room and cry
my mom came in and sat down next to me on the bed, "stop crying kelsey. it's almost new years"
i sigh, "i want lily to leave"
"she'll leave in a couple minutes after we celebrate"
"i want her to leave now!" i cry
my mom wraps her arms around me, "i know you didn't rip her barbie kelsey"
