"i brought you food" jaden says when i open the door
i look down at the bag in his hand, "five guys!"
"i got what you always get, cheeseburger with no pickles and a small fry" he walks into my house and goes into the kitchen, i follow behind him
he takes them out the bag and puts it down on the table neatly
"hey jaden" my dad pats jadens back and looks at me
"hey Mr.Davis, i got kelsey some food. she's always hungry" jaden says
"i know" my dad laughs, "anyway cynthia and i are going out to buy a gift for delilah, we'll back back soon"
"bye" jaden and i say in sync
my dad lowers his eyes at me before leaving the house and i take a deep breath and look at my burger
"thank you" i tell jaden when i sit down at the table, he sits down across from me
"of course, i know how badly you've been craving it. aren't i such a good boyfriend" he winks at me and i fake a smile
"the best"
"you know my friend carly from back home?" he ask me
"yea, the one you've known since 8th grade?" i question
"yea her" he clears his throat, "she found out her boyfriend still had feelings for his ex girlfriend" jaden says and my eyes widen
"wow really?"
"yea and they were together for a year" jaden tells me
i wonder if he knows, "that sucks"
"exactly, if he wasn't ready to be in a relationship then why even be in one... right?" he takes a bite from his burger
"right" i slowly take a bite from mine
my phone rings and before i can reach it jaden takes it and checks to see who texted
"jacob is wondering when you can hang out with him" jaden says
"oh, tell him i can tomorrow"
jaden nods and all i hear is a click
i reach for my phone and he pulls away and continues looking through my messages
"jaden what are you doing?" i furrow my brows
i hear another click and he gives me my phone back, i open it and check what he did
"you deleted his number?" i scoff
"yea so what?" he shrugs his shoulders
"he is my friend"
"and i am your boyfriend, unless you want to break up with me and date jacob instead"
"okay now you're being ridiculous" i put my phone down
"i'm just looking out for you kels" he frowns, "i even brought you food because you've been so down lately"
i take a deep breath, "thank you again, but jacob is just my friend and nothing more"
"but you guys did have a past relationship" he reminds me
"jaden! that was 2 years ago" i tell him
"you guys still had a relationship" he takes a sip from his coke
"so can i go through your phone and delete-"
he interrupts me, "i got you food kels, be quiet"
i look down at my food and sigh
