it's new year's eve and my dad has officially forced me to come to jacobs
i sit down at their couch and watch everyone, some have headbands on their heads that say new years, some are already drunk, and some are just talking
something i always liked about jacob and lily's parents was how chill they were. my dad would never let me have drunk friends over
everyone here is like 30 or 40, my dad didn't let me go to my friend jessica's new years party. everyone is going to jessica's tonight
i begged my dad and he told me that if i ask him one more time he's taking my car away, so i stopped asking
"kels!"
i look up and see jacob walking towards me, "hey" he hugs me
"hey jacob" i stand from the couch
"what are you doing here?" he ask
"what do you mean? i have to come" i furrow my brows
"you're not going to jessicas?"
"no, my dad won't let me" i look at my dad and he looked busy getting drunk with jacobs dad
"you're 21 kels, let's go" jacob winks
i mean he does have a point, "unless i'm under my dads roof, i still have to listen to him"
"but you're under mine" he smirks
"i have to tell my dad though, i cant leave without him not knowing"
"okay, tell him i'm going too"
i walk to my dad and tap his shoulder
"yes kels?"
"i know you said no to jessica's but jacob is going" i smile
"kels" my dad sighs, "why don't you want to celebrate with us?"
"it's not that i don't want too, it's just i'm going to be bored here and jacob is leaving, so i might as well go with him"
"fine, be home by 2am" he tells me
"thank you daddy" i hug him
i run back to jacob, "he said yes"
"i knew he would" he opens the front door for me and we start walking to his car
"no you didn't" i get inside his cold car
"your dad always lets you go out if i'm going to be there" jacob says
"well, true" i cross my arms
"and i'm younger then you" he starts the car
"only by a year" i remind him, "is lily coming to jessica's?"
"nah, she's going with her boyfriend out to dinner i think" jacob tells me

we arrive at jessica's house or place she rented, i have no idea. and it's literally a mansion
it's like the entire state is here. i follow behind jacob as we push our way through people
"jacob do you even know where we are going?" i grab his arm and he turns around
"yes" he squeezes my hand
people are making out, red cup all over the floor, the house is trashed, some people are dancing and some are passed out on the floor
and it's only 10pm
"this place is huge" i look around
"i know, it's perfect"
"are you kidding me? can we go outside, her backyard maybe? it's so musty in here" i tell him
"let's get wasted" he pulls me into the kitchen
he hands me a red cup and starts filling it, he then looks at me and chug down the bottle. my eyes widen and i pull the bottom out his hands, "jacob! that's so gross"
he licks his lips, "who cares"
"you don't know who's lips been on that"
"it's a brand new bottle" he defends
he waits for me to chug down the liquid in my red cup, i look into it and notice its clear, like water
"what is it?" i ask him
"vodka"
"you're drinking straight vodka?" i stare at him
"it's the last day of this year, just drink it"
i take a deep breath and swallow down the liquid, i put my cup down and look at jacob, "i am-"
"you made it!" jessica hugs me, she smells like straight weed
"yup i did" i start coughing
she puts the blunt in her mouth and smiles, "whos this? your boyfriend?"
i look at jacob then at jessica, "no he's my friend"
she raises her brow, "he's kinda cute"
jacob laughs, i press my lips together, "yea"
"is he going to be your new years kiss?" she smirks
"no" jacob and i both say in sync
jessica looks amused, "then who's is going to be? joey?"
my eyes widen, "no!"
she wraps her arm around me and starts pointing through the crowd of people, "what about tom, he's such a good kisser. or conner even though he uses a lot of tongue" she hiccups
"or what about tanner! gosh he's so hot look at him" she points to a tall blonde guy
"what about no one"
she furrows her brows, "are you kidding me! you have to kiss someone. people are already upstairs having sex"
"i don't need to kiss anyone jessica"
"borinngg" she pushes my shoulder and walks away from me
i watch her walk to tom and sit down next to him, i look at the cup in my hand and fill it with vodka again
i turn around and bump into someone, my drink spills all over them
i look down and pick up my cup from the ground, "i am so sorry"
"don't worry about it love" he says
i grab a paper towel and start wiping his black shirt, he chuckles and lets me wipe the vodka off him
"sorry i literally can't see anything"
"don't worry about it" he grabs my arm to stop me
i look up at him and furrow my brows, he looks so familiar
he gives me the same expression back, "do i know you?" we both say in sync
"i'm kels" i tell him
"jaden" he smiles
