it was about four twenty-seven in the morning when calum woke up from pain in his lower abdominal area. at first, he laid their for a couple minutes deciding if he should call a doctor or not. when a harsh stabbing pain shot up his back, and throbbed in his stomach, he knew something was wrong.

"a-ashton!" calum hisses, swinging out one hand to ashtons sleeping body. calum managed to hit the side of ashtons head, and that was enough to wake him up.

"ow! what the fuck?" ashton groans out, holding his head. calums other hand is pressed against his stomach as he grits his teeth.

"d-doctor! h-hurts!" calum says, and thats all he can manage to say before another cry of pain echoes the room. ashton jumps out of bed, and rushes out into the hallway. panic was flaring up in his gut, and shooting into his veins quicker than ever before. within seconds ashtons body was overflowing with anxiety and fear.

"i-i need a doctor!" ashton yells, getting attention of all the nurses working quietly out in the halls. they all turn to ashton, and quickly start running after him as ashton runs back into the room. as soon as ashtons standing in front of the bed, ready to rush to calums side - he quickly stops at the end of the bed, and his eyes widen.

"c-calum?!" ashton gasps, seeing all the red soak the sheets by his thighs.

more panic starts to flare in his gut.

"a-ashy!" calum cries. thick, warm tears roll down his flushed cheeks quickly. ashton feels like he could cry as well.

"im here, baby," ashton says, a sense of calmness suddenly in his veins as he rushes over to calums side, "its all gonna be okay."

"i-i don't w-wanna lose the b-baby," calum cries out. ashton opens his mouth, but the nurses burst into the room. one immediately starts to get calums vitals, and the other two lift up the sheets to see where the bleeding was coming from, and how bad it was.

somewhere in that rush, their doctor and his college were called, and they're in calums hospital room in less than twenty minutes.

"hey, calum," the doctor says calmly, standing at the end of calums clean bed, "what's going on?"

"i-it hurts!" calum cries out. the colleague wheels a ultrasound machine up next to calums bed, and gets it ready while the doctor keeps talking to calum, trying to keep the boy calm.

"alright, the nurses are gonna get you some pain meds in a couple minutes, alright?"

"what's going on?" ashton asks, still holding onto one of calums hands tightly.

"we'll figure it out, okay? now, calum, i need to see why you're bleeding, okay? so im gonna attach the leg posts and then you're going to plant your feet to the flat metal surface for me, okay?"

ashton watches the doctor attatch the bars, and then help calum move his legs so his legs were open and spread apart. it all seemed to be going by so quick, ashton was trying his best to keep up with everything.

the colleague pulls calums gown above his stomach, and then starts looking at the baby, making sure everything was alright. ashton couldn't read the screen, but he did know that the football sized lump on the screen was in fact their baby.

"oh," the doctor says, and calum can feel the doctors hands close to his hole. when the doctor gently pressed against his rim, he let out a loud wail. everything hurt to calum though, and he was so afraid of losing his baby.

"whats the oh for?" ashton asks, panicked. there was so many things going on, all ashton could focus on was calum.

the doctor nods to his colleague, who nods back and smiles. then, the doctor stands up from between calums legs. calums sniffs and hiccups still echoed the room as they both look at the doctor.

"emma! kate! i need you both to gown up, and bring the liquid numbing serum and pain medicine! we're hours away from delivering!"

"w-what?!" calum yells, feeling his heart beat up in his throat. the doctor then turns to calum and ashton, and calmly asks-

"ashton, calum, are you ready to have your baby?"
