MATTIA'S POV:

I was lying on my bed, scrolling through my phone, when there was a knock at my door.

"Come in" I said, knowing exactly who was on the other side of that door. Liv walked in, wearing a different outfit this time, still all black. I don't know what happened in Paris, but it changed her.

"I came for my stuff" she said quietly, looking around the room. I nodded towards the wardrobes.

"It's all hung up on there somewhere" I said, going back to my phone. She nodded and went over to the wardrobes, searching for her clothes. I watched her out of the corner of my eye, desperate to say something but I decided it would be best to just let it all pass, without causing any drama.

"Okay, that's all of it" she sighed, looking down at the box. I made out a slight frown on her face as she closed the box, smoothing the flaps down. I stood up and put my phone in my pocket, giving her a small smile.

OLIVIA'S POV:

I let my hair fall forward as I blinked back my pathetic tears before Mattia could see. I didn't know why I was crying, we were never even official. But still, something about all this hurt. Mattia smiled at me and came over to pick up the box.

"I'll do it" he said softly, walking towards the door. He placed his hand on the doorknob and turned to me before opening it.

"I know you said you'll never need me again"

But I did need him. Badly.

"But you'll always be welcome here" he said, opening the door. But once he opened it, we saw Kian standing there, giving us an innocent smile. I looked at Mattia, his jaw was clenched when he saw the unfamiliar figure standing in his house.

"Kian? I was just about to come-"

"You're the guy who was on the bench with Liv" interrupted Mattia, giving him a once over.

He placed the box on the floor. He looked at me and narrowed his eyes, tilting his head at the same time.

"This is what you replaced me for?"

My eyes widened when he said that and Kian took a step forward into his room.

"Have we got a problem?" he said, but Mattia's eyes were still on me, he was almost in...disbelief.

"Get the fuck outta my room, french boy" said Mattia, turning to face him. Kian swallowed and took a step back out of the room. I rolled my eyes at their behaviour and went to pick up the box but Mattia kicked it to the other side of the room.

"Let's talk" he said to me, slamming the door in Kian's face. I sighed and shook my head.

"I don't want to talk to you, I'm going home"

I went to open the door but Mattia scooped me up into his arms instead, throwing me over his shoulder.

"What the fuck, Mattia?" I groaned, punching his back. But of course he didn't flinch. He dropped me down on his bed and leaned on the wall opposite me.

"Are you gonna fucking talk then?" I said, folding my arms. He sighed and pinched the inner corners of his eyes to express his annoyance.

"Who the fuck is Kian? And why the fuck are you with him?" he asked, pointing towards the door.

"That's none of your business" I said, standing up so I was closer to him.

"My love life has nothing to do with you" I said, pointing a finger at him. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me towards him. I felt my heart starting to beat faster as he looked into my eyes for a second.

"It has everything to do with me, Liv" he whispered. I stayed silent as he loosened his grip on my wrist.

"I'm not letting you go around with a bitch boy like that when I'm standing right in front of you" he said, his tone serious. I shook my head at him, pulling my hand away from him.

"Again with the fucking ego-"

"Watch your mouth, Liv"

"Why? Are you going to kill me?"

"Don't fucking test me" he said calmly, looking out the window. I held my breath for a second, trying to calm myself down.

"I fucking love you, Olivia" he said, running a hand through his hair "you know I always have". I was taken aback by what he said. I did always know he did, but it hit different when I actually heard him say the words.

"But you've fucking changed since you took out Diaz Cartel, and I miss the old you, I miss us and what we had"

"I saw people die, Mattia. Of course I've fucking changed" I sighed, going to sit on the bed. But Mattia waved his arms in the air, tilting his head back.

"Like that, why the fuck are you so rude? That's my job" he exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes at how stupid the conversation was becoming and stood up to start walking towards the door.

"Just give me another chance" pleaded Mattia. I opened the door and glanced at him.

"When the timing is right, I will"

"So never" he said, shaking his head.

"What?" I closed the door for the second time as he gave me an answer.

"The fucking timing will never be right, Liv"

"Yes it will"

He took a sharp breath and turned to face me with a bitter expression on his face.

"You know what, fuck this and fuck you, I'm done taking your bullshit" he said, walking past me and out the door. I sunk to the ground and held my head in my hands. I had no tears in my eyes, but the heartache was too much. Mattia and I were so toxic for each other.

We never got along. Even if we did, it wouldn't last long at all.
