OLIVIA'S POV:

An unpleasant grin spread across the soldier's face as we heard the front door shut. I started regretting ever wanting to escape, but I wasn't planning on spending the rest of my life under Mariano.

"You're beautiful" he said, going to lock the door. I laughed nervously as he came up behind me and untied the ropes. I felt his rough lips kiss the back of my neck making me shudder with disgust.

"I'll be gentle" he murmured, wrapping his arms around me from the back. I pressed my lips together so I wouldn't scream and slowly pushed him away from me.

"I need you to do something for me" I said, drawing circles on the back of his hand. His eyes travelled down to my chest and his hand slowly started reaching out, but I stood up and walked over to the cabinet. He furrowed his brows at me and placed a hand on his keys.

"Let's have some fun" I smirked, watching as he walked over to me. He placed the key in the lock and looked over at me.

"After this, I get you"

I never knew how much effort it took to fake smile until that moment. He turned the key in the lock, revealing every type of weapon you could think of.

"I want this one" I said, taking a handgun from the middle shelf. But before I had a chance to look at the rest the soldier pushed me back into the wall, wrapping his arms tightly around my waist so I couldn't move.

"Wait-"

But he was already pushing up on me, completely ignoring me.

"Look, can you just-"

"Shut the fuck up!" he yelled, punching me directly in the stomach. It took me a second to catch my breath but when I did, I didn't wait any longer. I held the gun on his leg, but before he could look down I'd pulled the trigger. The bullet flew through his leg and hit the desk, causing him to stumble backwards, clutching onto his leg in agony.

I should've done that five years ago.

"You bitch" he groaned, lowering himself to the ground. I rolled my eyes and wiped my neck.

"You're lucky I didn't kill you" I said, unlocking the door. I walked out with the gun comfortably sitting in my right hand. There were no other soldiers around so I snuck through to the front door and pulled it open.

And there was Mar. With his eyebrows raised and hands deep in his pockets. He was on a step lower than me and looked up at me with a disappointed yet amused expression.

"Nice gun"

"Just let me go" I pleaded, lowering the gun to the ground. I placed it on the floor and placed my hands behind my head.

"You know I can't do that" he said, keeping a smile on his face. I bit my bottom lip, looking around. It was quite a fall backwards from where Mar was stood. I glanced to my right and saw there was another walkway. All I had to do was wait.

"Let's go inside" he said, nodding towards the well lit house behind me. I took a deep breath and tensed my arms a little, preparing myself to shove him.

"Olivia, I said-"

Gunshots. Several of them. All aimed at Mar.

"What the fuck?" I whispered, watching him arch his back in an attempt to ease the pain where the bullets had hit. With a thud, he hit the ground and I covered my mouth when I saw the amount of blood.

"Run, Olivia!"

I looked up and saw Mattia with a shotgun tucked under his arm, Kairi was sitting in the car. I felt my hands curl up into balls when I saw him. Acting like the hero he never was.

"Hurry the fuck up, let's get you home" he said as I got closer. I narrowed my eyes and stopped when we were a few metres apart.

"Why are you here?"

"What?" he asked, looking at me as if I was crazy "don't ask stupid questions, get in the car"

"Stop talking to me like you fucking own me" I spat, looking at his shocked expression.

"I came to save you, he was going to kill you" he said loudly, taking a step closer. I shook my head, not wanting to believe him.

"You fucking hate me, remember?"

"Olivia, come on you know I was-"

"Joking? You don't realise that you actually fucking hurt me when you say bullshit like that"

"No I was mad" he yelled "just like I am now cause of you"

"Why the fuck is it always cause of me!?" I yelled back. He thought about it for a second, keeping his eyes on me.

"Just get in the car" he said, lowering his voice. But I folded my arms across my chest and stayed put, even though I knew I'd end up back at the house tonight. Only for Alejandro.

"I don't need your help"

"Yes you fucking do" he said, raising his voice again "you're not cut out for this mafia shit-"

"Oh my god, shut the fuck up!" I screamed "it's always 'you're not cut out' or 'this isn't you' but what if I am cut out for it?"

"Please" he laughed "I'll believe that when I see it"

I nodded, pressing my lips together firmly as he tilted his head at me.

"Just you fucking wait, Polibio" I said, walking past him. I started walking towards the highway and heard him calling after me.

"Where the fuck are you going, we're an hour away from here" he shouted. But I kept walking and flagged down a cab when it came past. I got in and gave him the address.

Soon enough, we were home. I saw Kairi's car was parked up but Mattia's was gone.

"Holy shit, you're alive"

Alejandro pounced out of bed as I walked into the room and pulled me into a hug. I smiled and hugged him back, sinking into his chest. His body was shaking against mine, I never knew me being kidnapped would have this bad of an effect on him.

"Baby.." I said, gently running my fingers through the back of his head. We pulled away and he wiped his eyes quickly.

"I wasn't crying, shut up" he chuckled, placing his hands on my waist "Mattia didn't let me go, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you, Liv"

"Of course he didn't" I sighed, going over to my wardrobe to change into my nightwear.

"I'm so glad you're okay though" he said, sitting on the edge of the bed. I gave him a reassuring smile and walked over to the bed once I was changed.

"It'll take a lot to take me out" I said, getting in between the covers. Alejandro joined me and kissed me softly on the lips before covering my face in kisses.

"You sound like a mafia leader" he laughed. I grinned at his response.

"About that..." I started, taking his hand in mine.
