MATTIA'S POV:

I woke up with my arm wrapped around Olivia's waist, which made me smile knowing she hadn't moved away from me all night.

I carefully moved my arm away as I picked up my phone from the nightstand. I saw the time, it was 10am. I looked over at her, she was fast asleep yet she still looked like a whole goddess. I got out of bed and went to look outside the window.

The city was quiet for once. I stretched my arms out, just as I caught sight of two men walking towards the hotel. I squinted my eyes at them, trying to figure out who they were until it dawned on me.

They were Hector's men. I recognised them from when they had accompanied him to our private booth in the club. And I knew full well they were sent for me since I shot their leader.

I pulled the curtain over the window quickly and rushed over to the bed. I gently shook Olivia but she kept swatting my hands away.

"Go away" she yawned, turning away from me.

"Get up, we need to move" I pleaded, but I knew there was no way we could make it out the hotel now.

"This is your fault" I said, sliding a hand under Olivia's legs and one across her back. I picked her up, and to my surprise she put her head on my chest, keeping her eyes shut.

"Just let me sleep" she said. I rolled my eyes and walked over to the closet, sliding the door open.

"Wait what the fuck" started Olivia as I set her down inside of it. I hurried over to the nightstand and grabbed my gun before getting in the closet with her.

"Mattia what's going-"

I clasped my hand over her mouth, pushing her back up against the wall. I knew exactly what I had to do, I just didn't need any distractions. And she was my biggest distraction.

"Just don't talk, please"

She nodded and I slowly removed my hand. There was a knock at the door and I aimed my gun at it, waiting for them to enter. The door flew open and I pulled the trigger, killing him in a second. He dropped down to the ground, his gun falling beside him. The other soldier must be coming soon. I reloaded my gun and glanced at Olivia. Her face was pale and she was shaking. Shit.

"You've never seen this before, have you?" I said, taking her hand. She shook her head quickly.

"Well, I'm a Mafia leader, and it's kinda my job to kill people" I said, it weirdly sounded worse saying that out loud.

"Good to know" she said in a high pitched voice. I licked my lips nervously, trying to think of ways to calm her down. I put my gun in my pocket and held both her hands, pulling her closer to me. I slid the closet door shut so she couldn't see the body and tilted her chin up so she was only looking at me.

"Hey, imagine we're at a party, and this is 7 minutes in heaven" I smirked, feeling her hands sink into mine.

OLIVIA'S POV

I felt safe around him. Even though I'd just seen him kill a man, something told me he'd try everything keep me safe from the mafia aspect of his life. But we were meant to be friends.

His hands travelled around my waist as he pulled me in. I found myself blushing, but I knew nothing could happen between us. It'd ruin everything my Dad had worked for.

"Be my girlfriend" he whispered, bringing his face close to mine. I froze once the words had left his mouth. I would've said yes in a heartbeat, but this was reality. A horrible, miserable reality.

"I-I can't" I muttered, moving backwards from him. But that only made him more eager.

"Why not? We both like each other, what's stopping us?" he asked, moving closer to me again. I put my hand on his chest, trying to stop him.

"Mattia, stop"

"No, I want you" he said, taking my hand away from his chest and holding it in his. It took everything in me not to lean forward and kiss his lips.

"I already told you, I can't"

"But why?" he said, both of us becoming impatient.

"Because I don't have feelings for you" I said, pushing him away from me. He stumbled back and looked at me with a hurt expression. I immediately regretted everything I'd said.
