MATTIA'S POV:

I was lying in bed with my arms wrapped around Liv when I heard a bang from downstairs. It sounded like a gunshot and Liv's eyes snapped open.

"What the fuck was that" she said as I got out of bed.

"I have no idea" I said, throwing a bulletproof vest on. Liv got out of bed too and grabbed two handguns from the nightstand cabinet. I sighed and watched her as she handed me a gun.

"There's no point fighting you, is there?"

"Give me a vest" she smirked. I took the gun and handed her a vest in turn for it. She threw it over her hoodie and adjusted her messy black hair into a ponytail, leaving a few strands loose.

"You're gorgeous" I said dreamily. She grinned and winked at me through the mirror.

"Oh I know" she said, walking towards the door. I reached out, grabbing her wrist and pulling her back
to me, watching her become all flustered.

"Don't get smart with me" I said, my voice in a low tone. Our lips were only inches apart and she was doing everything she could to avoid eye contact. Her cheeks turned red and I smirked, letting go of her and walking towards the door.

"Now let's go kill someone, Bonnie" I said, watching her roll her eyes.

"Didn't they rob banks?" she said, taking ahold of my hand as we walked across the landing.

"Who cares? They were a badass couple who did bad things" I said. We walked downstairs and I looked in the living room, holding my gun in one hand. I shook my head at Liv who checked in the study, also shaking her head. We both looked at the kitchen.

"Stay behind me" I whispered, putting an arm in front of Liv as we cautiously made our way over. I opened the door a crack to see my Dad on the floor, holding his heart with a hand that was red with blood as he gasped for air.

Liv covered her mouth as we saw who was standing above my Dad. The one and only Maria.

OLIVIA'S POV:

"Oh look who joined me!" she said, facing us. Mattia's face turned red as he started firing bullets at her. But she was too fast for him and ducked behind a countertop whilst firing back. I ran into the kitchen and kneeled down beside Giancomo, seeing the bullet wound on the left side of his chest.

"I don't need your help" he said, barely getting any words out.

"Can you not be stubborn for five seconds and let me save your life?" I shot back, silencing him. I crawled over to a cabinet whilst Mattia kept shooting at Maria to get bandages, but as I crawled back I noticed a soldier in the garden, aiming his gun at Mattia. Then I decided to not think straight.

"No!" I screamed, standing up and running in front of Mattia. I felt two bullets penetrate my body, one in the right arm and one in my thigh.

"Liv what the fuck?" Mattia shouted, catching me before I could hit the floor. Maria took her opportunity and ran out the kitchen, pleased with the damage she'd caused.

"He...was going to-"

"Don't talk, don't talk" said Mattia, his eyes becoming glassy as he placed his hand on my forehead, brushing the hairs out of my face.

"You didn't have to do that" he said. I smiled, unable to say anything because of the pain. The kitchen door swung open and Kairi and Alejandro appeared, both of their jaws dropping open when they saw the current situation.

"Call an ambulance!" ordered Mattia. Kairi took his phone out and Alejandro came over, kneeling on the other side of me.

"What the fuck happened?" he asked a teary eyed Mattia.

"She saved my life, again" he said, shaking his head at me "you have to stop doing that"

I smiled at him, feeling my own eyes fill up with pools of tears. I couldn't tell whether it was from the moment we were having or cause of the blood pouring out of my leg and arm. I closed my eyes as I heard the sirens outside.

"Liv!" said Mattia, shaking me slightly. I groaned and opened my eyes, waving him away.

"I'm not dead yet" I said.

"Don't talk like that, dumbass" said Mattia, wiping his eyes. He scooped his arms underneath me and gently picked me up, carrying me outside and into the ambulance.

I looked up at him as he spoke to the paramedics, telling them about Giancomo who was still inside, still holding me tight in his arms.

That was when I realised he was all I'd ever wanted. He checked all the boxes, he was my human. And even though we weren't official, I just knew there in that moment, there was no one else I'd want to spend the rest of my life with.
