MATTIA'S POV:

It'd been a week since Olivia and I stopped talking. And I wasn't coping too well with it. I poured my second glass of whiskey and downed it in one.

"Take it easy man, we have a mission soon"

Alejandro had walked into the kitchen and took a seat opposite me. Since we all lived in the same house, there was no way of keeping things secret, everyone found out at some point.

"I don't wanna go, you and Kairi can handle it"

He looked at me in disbelief, but I shrugged my shoulders. I wasn't in the right mindset to go complete a mission, and if I forced myself to go, it probably wouldn't end well.

"Is this about that girl?" he said quietly, taking the bottle away from me. I nodded, trying to get her out of my head.

"Shit, she really fucked with your head, huh?"

"She lead me on, she knew I had feelings for her and she just...used me" I spat, all my sad feelings were slowly turning to anger.

"Maybe she had a good reason?"

"What reason?!" I yelled, slamming my fist onto the table "what possible fucking reason is there? For the first time, I fell in love, I was vulnerable and she fucking took advantage of it"

"Who fell in love?" I heard my Dad ask. I turned around quickly and wiped my mouth.

"No one, we were just having a conversation, Father"

"Alejandro, leave" he said, keeping his eyes on me. I didn't fear anyone but my Dad. Alejandro walked out and closed the door behind him. Dad took a few steps towards me.

"Father, it's nothing-"

But I didn't finish off my sentence since he'd slapped me around the face. My cheek was stinging from the impact of his rings. I cupped my cheek with my hand, trying not to show any signs of pain.

"I have worked too fucking hard for you to fuck everything up Mattia Polibio" he hissed. "I've been through hell and back, yet you want to ruin my mafia over some fucking girl? Sober the fuck up and be ready for 9pm, you're going on that fucking mission"

"Yes Sir."

He left the room, slamming the door behind him for added fucking effect. I closed my eyes hoping the pain would go away soon, but every time I closed my eyes I saw her. I had to get her off my mind.

OLIVIA'S POV:

I sat at the kitchen table as I ate my lunch. I scrolled down to Bella's name on FaceTime, but someone else's name caught my eyes. My finger hovered over Mattia's name, but there was no point. He'd probably forgotten about me by now. Even though he's been playing on my mind for the past week.

Dad had been out all morning at work, he still wasn't talking to me since I quit the mission. I hadn't had the energy to go in today, I didn't want to see anyone. Except him. But thanks to my stupidity, that was now and would forever remain impossible.

I heard the front door open and turned to see who had come in. Dad entered the kitchen, with Luis. I put my head in my hands as they approached me. The two people I was planning on avoiding today were now stood in front of me.

"You're doing the mission" said Dad. He had a blank expression on his face, yet it was intimidating.

"What? I've been off it for a week, there's no way I'm going back to it"

"You don't have a choice, you know him the best, and it'd be too obvious if we sent another spy in to do the exact same thing you did" Dad argued. I knew there was no way out of it, but I couldn't even begin to imagine how the fuck I was meant to continue the mission.

"Fine, why the fuck is he here?" I asked, looking at Luis. He gave me a creepy smile which only made me want to vomit.

"Watch your tone" said Dad "and he's going to be your partner, to make sure everything runs smoothly"

"What?!" I almost screamed. I looked at Dad in horror, this was by far the worst choice he'd ever made.

"You'll wear a microphone and Luis will listen to make sure nothing goes wrong" he added as if it would make me feel better.

"You can't do this" I said, pinching the outer corners of my eyes to stop me from having a meltdown.

"I can, I gathered since you're closest to Luis-"

"I'm not close to Luis! I hate him!" I shouted, trying to hold back tears. Why couldn't I be stronger emotionally?

"I'm right here" sneered Luis, waving a hand at me.

"Shut the f-"

"Okay, that's enough" said Dad loudly "from an inside source we've gathered that Mr Polibio is going on a raid tonight at 9pm. I'll send you the address, your task is to try interact with him once they're done. You need to become friends again"

My eyes went wide as he said that last sentence. Did he know about what happened in the hotel?

"How did you know we're not friends?"

"Well that must be why you quit the mission I guess, complications like that always get in the way" he said. I breathed a sigh of relief and looked at my phone. It was coming up to 8pm, and I needed to get ready, and try formulate a plan.

MATTIA'S POV:

It was coming up to 8:30pm. I changed into a black shirt with jeans, and decided to wear a couple gold necklaces. I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket and checked who it was.

Olivia: Can we talk?

I sighed in frustration and sat down on the bed. As much as I wanted to meet up with her right now, I knew my Dad would kill me if I missed the mission.

Me: You're really still talking to me?

Olivia: I'm really sorry, I didn't mean
anything I said at the hotel, I promise

Me: Wait so you wanted to be my girlfriend?

Olivia: We both know that can't happen,
but that doesn't mean I want to lose you
as a friend. You're important to me, Mattia.

Me: But I want more than friends

Olivia: Look, can we please just talk?

I rubbed the side of my face as I thought about my reply. The only way I'd be able to meet her would be after the raid. But I didn't want to meet her if it was as friends. She meant so much more than that to me.

Me: I'll send you the address, meet me here at 10pm

Olivia: I'll be there
