OLIVIA'S POV:

I pushed Mar back, looking at him in complete disgust.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?" I yelled, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. Mar looked behind me, before answering my question.

"You just looked so pretty!" he exclaimed, rubbing the back of his neck. I shook my head in annoyance, picking up my purse.

"I'm going for a walk" I said, moving away quickly. I heard him calling for me, but I didn't want to be with right now. I looked around the fairground, my eyes finally setting on the Ferris wheel. The way it slowly went round and round, it almost put me in a trance.

I walked over to join the queue, instantly feeling out of place as I saw all the couples around me again. Arm in arm, hand in hand. They all looked so happy and in love. I had that with Mattia.

All I wanted was for him to be by my side again. I felt my eyes heating up and quickly looked at the ground before attracting any unwanted attention. I just wished there was a different way around it. I didn't have to lie. This was my fault, and I'd hurt Mattia.

"Lady!" shouted the instructor. My head snapped up and I quickly wiped my eyes, rushing forward. I handed him my ticket and got into one of the carts. The rest of the carts were full with two people, my heart sunk as I clutched onto my purse. I felt the cart moving forward, and the wind rushing through my hair.

"Wait!" I heard a voice yell. I knew that voice. I'd know that voice anywhere. I turned to see Mattia running through the crowd of people, towards me.

He pressed his ticket into the instructor's hand and jumped over the barrier, keeping his eyes on me the whole time. My cart was only a few centimetres off the ground, and I pushed open the door to it, as Mattia jumped into it. I stared at him, stunned over what he'd just done.

"What are you-"

"I need to talk to you" he said, panting for breath "don't be with Mar, be with me"

I rolled my eyes, holding in my laugh.

"You did all that just to tell me this?"

"Well, no it's more complicated than that" he said, a slight smirk appearing on his face. I felt flutters appear in my stomach as he inches closer to me.
He stared deeply into my eyes and I had to look away before we got carried away. I looked out and saw the skyline as we approached the top.

"Well then, tell me" I said "and you better hurry, we'll be at the bottom soon"

Mattia sat back, placing his hands behind his head.

"Don't worry, I've got that sorted" he smirked. I looked at him, puzzled. Just then, the cart came to an abrupt stop, and we had stopped, right at the top of the wheel.

"What the fuck?" I said, looking down to see Kairi winking back up at me.

"You're kidding me" I said, pinching the bridge of my nose. Mattia laughed, watching my reaction.

"Look" his expression became serious as he turned his body to face me "we had something, you can't deny that, and yeah I was an arrogant son of a bitch but I was hurt"

Guilt slapped me across the face as a frown appeared on his face.

"I'm sorry Mattia, I should've never lied to you, I wish I never had to do that mission" I said, taking his hand.

"I thought it'd be easy forgetting about you, but when I heard about you and Mar, something went off in me" he looked at me, grazing the back of my hand with his thumb "it made me realise how much I need you. I've never felt this way about anyone, you changed me for the better and I'm not letting you just walk out my life"

Mattia's words had made me fall for him even harder than I already had. All the feelings he had for me, I had them for him.

"Let's start again" I said, watching his eyes light up.

"Thank you, Liv" he smiled, letting out a sigh of relief. I felt my cheeks heating up whenever he smiled. He did something to me. Something Mar couldn't do.

"I'm gonna need confirmation though" he said, tapping his cheek. I laughed and leaned in to plant a kiss on his soft skin. But when I was close enough he turned his cheek so our lips met. I was surprised, but I expected nothing less from Mattia.

His hands travelled through my hair, pulling me closer with every heartbeat that went by. I felt him smile against my lips as I wrapped my arms around his neck. We were pulled apart as the cart suddenly started moving again, taking us closer to the ground. I laced my hand in Mattia's until I saw Mar staring up at us.

"Shit" I said. Mattia saw too. Mar's nostrils flared as he saw us holding hands, I didn't even want to think about what he'd do when we touched ground.

"You can jump, right?"

I looked at Mattia, my eyes wide. He had a lot of ideas, some inventive, some rather stupid. I'll let you guess what kind of idea this was. Before I had a chance to speak, Mattia stood up, holding tightly onto my hand.

"On 3" he said. The forest on the other side of the Ferris wheel didn't look too pleasant, but it was either that or I faced Mar. I'd had harder decisions in life.

"1, 3!" screamed Mattia. We jumped off the Ferris wheel, I had to cover my mouth so I didn't scream. Mattia held my hand as we travelled through the air, and safely landed onto the muddy path which entered the forest.

"You said on three!" I yelled, pushing him backwards. He held his sides as he laughed loudly, adrenaline rushing through us both. I stared at him in annoyance for a second before bursting into laughter too. Once we'd calmed down, I looked around the forest, a shiver made its way down my spine, it was pitch black.

"How do we get out of here?" I said quietly. But Mattia straightened up and took ahold of my hand.

"We'll find a way, we always do" he said with confidence, kissing the top of my head as we made our way into the forest.
