Undercover

A Simple Favour

MATTIA'S POV:

I felt someone grab my arm and pull me out of the van. I didn't know where Liv was, and that was scaring me the most.

"Take them to the same room he's in" I heard Dmitri say. I felt the grip on my arm tighten as a door opened in front of me. I was walked forward and pushed down into a chair, the bag pulled off me.

I looked around and saw my Dad sitting in the chair in front of me and Liv sitting behind me. She looked as nervous as I felt. I followed her eyes to the ground where I saw a small puddle of blood directly under my Dad's wrists. That was when my sadness turned into anger.

"Get off, asshole!" I heard Alejandro shout. I looked up and saw Alejandro and Kairi being bought into the room, Alé took a seat next to Liv and Kairi next to me.

"Are you good?" I heard Alejandro whisper to Liv. I rolled my eyes, read the room.

"What a beautiful sight"

We all looked at Dmitri who was closing the metal door behind him. It was only us and him in the room. Five against one, yet he had all the power. He took a gun out of his pocket and took a seat opposite us, resting the gun on his lap, smiling at us.

"So who wants to die first?" he said, looking at us all one by one. We all stayed quiet, facing the ground.

"No takers?" he said, standing up and taking a step towards Liv. My head snapped up as I watched him place the gun under her chin, tilting her face upwards. I held my breath, doing everything I could to stop myself from screaming.

"You're such a pretty girl" said Dmitri. Liv swallowed, her eyes filling up with tears. I hated being in the weaker position when she needed me like this.

"Fuck you" she said, through gritted teeth. I saw Alejandro squeeze his eyes shut, almost as if he was bracing himself from whatever was about to happen.

"Why get involved with a boy like him?" said Dmitri, lowering his voice and completely disregarding Liv's insult. Her mouth turned into a thin line as a tear slid down her cheek.

"I love him, something you won't ever be capable of" she said. I felt my cheeks going warm as Dmitri shook his head at Liv. I saw my Dad roll his eyes at Liv. He didn't understand. He never would.

"Such a shame" he said, loading his gun and aiming it at Liv's head. She shut her eyes tight and Kairi started shaking his head.

"Another innocent life gone to-"

"No!" I shouted, turning in my chair. I immediately regretted it but at least he lowered his gun.

"Kill me, I'm more valuable" I spluttered as Dmitri started walking over to me. My Dad looked at me with widened eyes.

"No! Stop talking!" he yelled at me. I looked at him and back at Dmitri who was enjoying every second.

"Look" said Dad, taking a breath.

"You want me dead, don't you?" he said. Dmitri smiled and looked at the gun in his hand.

"Ever since our paths crossed, Polibio" he said.

"Then do it" sighed Dad, looking at the ground. I looked at him in disbelief.

"Just do it if it means you'll let them all go" he said. Dmitri raised his gun at my Dad as a smile spread across his face.

"No don't!" I screamed, pulling on the ropes. But a gunshot went off with a loud bang. I closed my eyes and braced from the impact. Tears blurred my vision when I opened my eyes again, but I couldn't see anything cause of the mist.

"Son? Are you okay?"

I furrowed my eyebrows and squinted through the smoke. My Dad was looking at me with worried eyes and I looked down and saw Dmitri at his feet. Lying in a puddle of red blood which was spewing from his head.

"What just.." Alejandro started, looking around the room. I looked at Liv who was looking at the door.

"Oh my god" she said. We all looked at the door where Luis was stood with a shotgun in his hands.

"Honestly" he said, staring at me "I was hoping you'd be stood behind the door"

I glared at him as he looked down at Dmitri.

"I guess this works too" he shrugged, walking back out. I watched him walk out and looked back at Liv, raising my eyebrows. Kairi and Alejandro were just as gobsmacked as we were.

"Get back here you dumbfuck!" my Dad yelled. Luis turned around and walked back in the room, pointing a finger at my Dad.

"I have a shotgun in my hand-"

"Shut the fuck up and untie us" said Liv, rolling her eyes at him. I shook my head and looked at Dmitri's lifeless body. I didn't even want to imagine the lengths Maria would go to for revenge.

"Only cause you're hot" said Luis, going to untie her hands. I turned to look at him, ready to say something but Liv shook her head at me quickly as she came over to untie me.

"He isn't worth it, Mattia" she whispered softly, leaving a kiss on the back of my neck. I sucked my teeth and nodded, ignoring Luis' glares.

I stood up and untied my Dad whilst Olivia tended to Alejandro and Kairi.

"What do we do now?" I said, looking at Dad for guidance. He looked at me and leaned down, plucking the gun from Dmitri's hand and aiming it at Luis. Within the blink of an eye, a bullet flew through Luis' head, sending him back into the wall.

"What the fuck?" I yelled, looking at Dad who remained unbothered. I looked at Liv who took a step back from Dad.

"He fucking saved us-"

"He's a traitor" said Dad, wrapping the gun in a white handkerchief and placing it in his suit pocket.

"What?" said Alejandro, looking at Luis' body.

"The only reason he came here was to give Maria information on us"

"Basterd" mumbled Kairi. Dad turned to look at Liv.

"Information that you gave him" he said, pointing a finger at her. Liv raised her eyebrows and shook her head.

"I've never told him shit about NJ13" she defended herself. I looked at Liv, she was telling the truth. I knew we'd had trust issues in the past but there was no way she'd still try go behind my back. Surely not.

"I know you wouldn't tell, and he knew that too" said Dad. Liv looked at me and I shrugged my shoulders, we both had no idea.

"He had a tracker on you, I don't know how" he said "that's how they knew your location at all times"

"He was responsible for the ambush" said Alejandro, piecing everything together.

"I'm so sorry" whispered Liv, wiping her eyes again. I went over to console her, but Dad held his arm out in front of me.

"Well now you owe me one" he said.

"Dad-"

"Stay out of this" he said, keeping his eyes on Liv. She sighed and waved her arms in the air.

"What do you want?"

"Cut off all ties with my son"
