I want to see all of the things that we've already seen
The lairy girls hung out the window of the limousine
The work studies were way more difficult than I had imagined. I thought I had gotten pretty good at keeping up with my classmates, but... well. Turns out I wasn't. Or rather I wasn't any good at keeping up with Alley Cat, because she was fast handling her turf. And I was kind of trailing behind with the other side kicks.
Honestly the days were really exhausting, since we were on patrol nearly every single day. I was happy to have days when we were in the office, hoisting paper work around, simply because we would be sitting most of the day and not walking around and I could give my legs a bit of a rest.
Most of the work study so far was my entire body hurting with one day of rest during the week. But thankfully I had my own room and could relax in the evening without my parents bothering me about stuff. I was happy enough to have some private time to wind down in the evening.
Of course, Shouta was staying over pretty much every evening, but we mostly just napped together, because we were both completely exhausted every evening. But it was nice to fall asleep next to him and wake up with him in the morning, even though the bed was only meant for one person.
It was a bit cramped, but we managed somehow. But every Monday it was time for another patrol. At least most Mondays were fairly quiet. It was towards the weekend that people just went crazy and rampant. I really dreaded the patrols on weekends, because they were the worst.
"F/N? Is it already morning again?" I heard Shouta muttering beside me, as I got up to get ready for work.
"Unfortunately, yes." I said with a sigh. And it really was unfortunate, because I was tired and my legs hurt like hell, but I had to keep going. Make myself a coffee to slurp on the way to work, take a painkiller for the slight latent headache I was having, because I was using my Quirk way more and try to do some stretching and warming up before the actual patrol, so I wouldn't hurt any muscles.
"Fuck..." Shouta groaned and turned around, wrapping his arms around himself, sighing. He had to get up, too, but I knew he'd leave it until the very last minute. Shouta was struggling as much as I was, just like Oboro and Hizashi. The first time at a work study was rough as hell.
"Come on, Shou. Time to get up." I told him, as I put on some old workout clothes. I'd get changed at the agency, so my costume was packed up in a small case that I'd have to bring with me.
"No, I don't wanna." Shouta protested, pulling the blanket over his head and curling up into a ball.
"You have to. Or do you want to leave poor Oboro all alone?" I asked him, as I made my way into the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. There was no point in morning showers anymore, which was good in a way, since it allowed me to sleep just a few minutes longer.
"Oboro is a big boy, he'll be fine on his own." Shouta answered, his voice muffled by the blanket.
"Shou, come on! I won't make you coffee, if you don't get up now!" I shouted, turning around to him. He scrambled beneath the blanket, poking just his head out, his eyes narrowed at me.
"You're so mean to me."
"I'm not mean to you, I'm only trying to motivate you to get out of bed." I said with a chuckle. He pouted at me.
"Why don't you get back into bed with me?" Shouta asked, a slight smirk on his face. I shook my head.
"As much as I'd love to, I have to get to work." I told him, starting to tie my hair up in a braid, so it wouldn't bother me later on at work. I really wished I could stay in bed with Shouta all damn day, but I'd be let go from my work study if I did that and it had been difficult enough to find one in the first place.
"I know, I know." Shouta muttered and stretched his arms, as he sat up in bed and then slowly climbed out of bed, almost stumbling over the blanket. He had a good few bruises on his body from fighting villains and his hair was a mess from burying himself beneath the blankets.
"There you go." I said with a smile and turned around to pull him into a tight embrace. Shouta hummed against my hair and kissed the top of my head softly, before letting go of me.
"Will you please make a cup of coffee for me, too?" he asked, smiling at me sleepily. He knew exactly that I couldn't resist him when he was giving me that sleepy look. I sighed loudly.
"Fine...Just because you're so cute." I muttered and ruffled his hair, before heading out of the bathroom and towards the little mini-kitchen that was part of the room. Honestly, this was just one small room with some kitchen appliances in it, a bed, a desk and a small closet and a tiny bathroom to the side.
But at least it was cheap. It was all I could really afford at the moment. Shouta was pitching in for food, so we kind of made do with what we had here. Maybe this would be the way we'd be living once we graduated... Although I much preferred the notion of sharing a bigger apartment with Oboro and Hizashi and maybe even Kayama. It would seem more fun to do that right out of school.
I suppose we'd see what would happen. We still had about a year and a half, before we graduated, surely we'd figure something out by then. I mean, I couldn't even imagine right now that Shouta and I would ever break up, but who knew? It was a possibility. I sure hoped it would never happen, though.
With a sigh I took the kettle with the boiling water in it and poured it over the instant coffee in the two cups we had. I was glad there were even two cups in the entire apartment, because there was only one spoon. If Shouta and I had soup for dinner, one always had to feed the other.
At least that way we didn't have a lot of dishes to do each day. The few dishes we had were done really quickly, so we could handle it after a long day of work (and school assignments on top of that, because our teachers were not going easy on us with assignments over the summer break).
I took my cup and started sipping the coffee, but it was still too hot. I glanced at the clock on the wall and saw that I had enough time for this, so I didn't need to hurry and burn my tongue.
By the time Shouta was done getting ready, I'd have to be done with my coffee, though, so I kept sipping it, even though it was a little too hot. I checked my phone and saw a message from Maiko, wishing me a good morning and telling me she would be bringing my clothes to work today.
The thing was that we didn't have a washing machine in here, so we either had to go to an expensive laundromat or I'd ask Maiko to wash them for us, because she did have a room with a washing machine that she could use without any extra cost. Thankfully, she was kind enough to offer.
The other message was my mother asking how I was doing. Thank God, they had no idea that Shouta was living here with me. The thing was that they hadn't asked, so I didn't see why I should tell them. They said I could date who I wanted, but made it clear all the time they didn't like Shouta.
"Hey, what are you doing here, looking so pretty?" I heard Shouta asking, as he walked up to the counter I was leaning against. I looked down on myself, wearing an old shirt I had no idea who it might have once belonged to (either Shouta, Oboro or Hizashi, at this stage we all shared clothes), and a pair of stained sweatpants. What the fuck was wrong with this boy saying I looked pretty like that?
"You're such a dumbass, Shou, I look like shit. But I love you for pretending you think I'm pretty." I said with a wide smile on my face.
"I'm not pretending..."
