Man on the moon

Graduation was weird. It just felt weird. There were parents everywhere and everyone was dressed in their hero costumes and holding their diplomas. It felt really surreal and I wasn't even sure what to do. Sure, I could go and chat with my classmates, but it would just make everything feel that much weirder, if I was being honest. So I was just standing around with Hizashi.

Hizashi was out there chatting to everyone and I was just kind of following him around, trying to find Shouta so we could go and ditch as soon as it was possible. I really didn't want to be here any longer than I had to and I had to get ready for the damn prom, as well. It was honestly making me a little nervous how much I still had to do for that and how much time I was wasting here.

But then again, Shouta was nowhere to be found and my parents seemed to be happy to chill out with the other parents and it would have felt weird to already nag them to go home. Plus, I wanted a picture with Shouta and there were some other people who wanted group pictures.

I think the weirdest thing was seeing Sensoji with his mother who was like... tiny. She was just standing there, close to tears, going on about how her little boy was all grown up and it was somehow really hilarious to watch. And I had never seen Sensoji this soft ever before, it was weird.

But then it started raining just a tiny bit. Considering the time of the year, however, it was probably going to get worse over time and not better. So this wasn't good, especially since we all hadn't even started taking group pictures yet. To be honest, I wasn't sure about the whole group picture business. It kinda would feel weird without Oboro in the picture, but... well.

There was nothing anyone could do about it and it wasn't like most people here were actually that close to him. It still kind of sucked, though. But there was no way to fix that easily.

"Huh, rain?" a girl next to me said, holding out her hand and looking up into the sky, frowning.

"Seriously? On graduation day of all days?" Hideko agreed and shook her head, rolling her eyes.

"Let's get in some group shots before the weather really turns! Huddle up!" Maiko said and waved at everyone around us. I glanced at Hizashi who knew exactly how to get everyone gathered up.

"YEAH! KILLER IDEA!" he shouted before turning around and using his Quirk. I wasn't prepared, so my ears started ringing immediately which honestly sucked. But it was for a good cause.

"HEY AIZA-" he started when he suddenly went silent and held his throat, a little surprised. I heard a little thud and saw Shouta jumping from a wall or something, diploma in hand. He grinned at Hizashi, before giving him his Quirk back and coming over to us. He was looking pretty smug.

"Hey, Shou. Missed you." I said when he was in earshot. Shouta just smiled at me and ruffled my hair.

"Missed you, too, but I didn't wanna be in the middle of everything." he answered. I chuckled and wrapped my arms around him, hugging him. I honestly had missed him so much right now.

"I get it, I get it. Are you still going to be in the group pictures?" I asked him. He rolled his eyes and sighed.

"If I have to."

"You do." I said and laughed, looking over to Hizashi who was waving us over to where everyone was gathering up. Shouta and I quickly headed over, our diplomas in our hands, trying to look like we didn't even care about the rain. (But we did. It kinda sucked, because it wasn't too warm either.)

We got in our place to get the photos taken and it was all over much quicker than we thought it would be. Thankfully Maiko was taking the pictures so I knew she'd just mail that to me later on and I could pass it onto Shouta. If he even wanted to have it. He wasn't the type of person to have pictures lying around, the only pictures I ever saw him own were a few with Oboro in them.

"Hey, wanna ditch?" Shouta whispered to me, as soon as everyone was moving inside because the rain was getting worse. I looked outside, the rain streaming down. But honestly? Why the fuck not? It wasn't like we had cared much all the three years we had been at UA.

"Sure. Let's go." I said and chuckled. Shouta and I looked back at everyone trying to get back inside. He put his arm around my shoulders and then we just ditched. We ran away from the school into the rain, through the campus until we had made it out. We were getting soaked.

But we also didn't even care, because honestly, when else would we get the chance to just run away from UA and get soaked to the bone while being absolutely ecstatic to finally be out of this place?

"Hey, you know what? I won't be needing this anymore." Shouta said and held up his diploma.

"What? What are you gonna do?" I wanted to know. I wasn't sure where he was going with this. But I also didn't really care at this point. I was freezing cold and wet but I was pretty happy.

Shouta grinned and crumpled up his diploma, tossing it out into the street. I looked at him completely dumbfounded. Had he... had he just thrown out his diploma? What the actual fuck? What if he didn't manage to go independent? Then what? I wanted to kill him for being so stupid but at the same time... I don't know, I just felt so carefree, so all I managed was a chuckle.

"What... what the fuck, Shou?" I asked, just laughing more. I wasn't even sure why I found this so funny.

"It's not like I'm going to apply anywhere. I mean our teacher was right when he said my plans were more like bounty hunting. But so what? Sounds exciting." he replied with a big smirk.

"What if it's not going to work out? You're gonna need that." I said. He just shook his head quickly.

"Nah. I can get it from the school even after graduating, I'll just have to pay a small fee and do a bit of a walk of shame. But if it's not going to work out, then I guess I deserve that walk of shame."

"You're so fucking stupid."

"I know. But you still love me." he said with a grin. I laughed and wrapped my arms around him.

"Of course I do. Of course I still love you, you big dumbass. I love you so fucking much. And I can't wait for tonight." I told him. I really couldn't wait for prom, because... well, let's say I didn't go shopping with Nemuri for absolutely no reason at all. I had a nice little surprise for Shou after prom.

"Me neither. Although the whole dancing part will be annoying." he muttered and playfully rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, but you get to dance with me. That should easily make up for it." I said with a small chuckle.

"It does make up for it. Now, you better get home and get ready, okay? I'll pick you up later." he said to me and pressed a gentle kiss to my lips. Damn, I really didn't want him to leave, but it had to be done. I did need to get ready and he needed to get ready as well. It was just for a little while, anyway.

"Alright. I'll see you in a bit, Shou. Love you."

"Love you, too."

And with that he went in the direction of his own house, while I made my way back home to get a hot shower and get started on doing my hair and shaving my legs and getting everything ready for prom.
