My girl, my girl, don't lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
"Oh, hey (F/N)! Here to pick up Oboro and Shouta?" Kayama asked me. I was leaning against the wall of their agency waiting for the two of them to get ready. I was done with work today and it was my last day before my vacation, so we had been planning to go and do something tonight.
"Kayama! You look happy. Everything good with the two of them?" I wanted to know. She smiled and nodded.
"We caught a villain today. Did Shouta tell you about the one that got away with his smoke screen?" she replied. I nodded. Of course I remembered that one, he was so upset about it and it wasn't that long ago.
"Yeah, I do. You caught him?"
"Shouta and Oboro did! They did really good work. Is it your last day before the holidays?" she wanted to know. I nodded and sighed. I really didn't look forward to being on vacation with my parents. I'd much rather stay here and keep working and stay with Shouta and Oboro.
"Unfortunately." I muttered. Kayama nodded and sighed. I could imagine Shouta had told her about it in one of his grumpier moments. He rarely kept stuff that was annoying him to himself.
"Yeah, I heard. Well, it's only two weeks. You'll survive it. I'll send you regular updates on Sushi, okay?" she said with a grin. I laughed. Shouta always showed me all the cat pictures that Kayama sent.
"Please do. I know Shouta will forget to forward them, the only reason I get to see them is because I sit right beside him." I answered with a chuckle. Kayama shook her head, laughing.
"Yeah, I can imagine. They did really well today, though. I'm sure Shouta will miss you while you're gone."
"You think so?"
"Definitely. He doesn't talk much, but he gets that look when he gets a text from you or when he's talking about you. It's really cute." Kayama said with a chuckle. I couldn't help but smile at that.
"Really? I never knew that... that is cute." I replied, laughing a little. Somehow I never thought that Shouta would actually miss me being around, but... well, I trusted Kayama's judgment.
"Yeah. Anyway, gotta head home now. See you around after the break. They shouldn't be too long now." she said and waved at me. I nodded and waved back at her, as she made her way home.
"Bye, Kayama-senpai!"
I was wondering what the story was between her and Oboro. I knew she had a bit of a crush on him, but she seemed to be keeping her cards close to her chest. I hoped for Oboro that she was still interested. Maybe they had something going on even, no idea. Oboro did seem overly happy lately.
Then again, Oboro could be happy with the smallest things happening. All Oboro needed to be happy was the right kind of snack in the morning. And somehow that would keep him going for an entire day. Maybe we should all take lessons from Oboro when it came to being happy with the small things in life.
"Hey! Who is this? One of my favourite people in the world! I can't believe it!" I suddenly heard him shouting and was quickly pulled into a hug, before I even knew what was happening.
"I thought I was your favourite person in the entire world." Shouta just said, shaking his head in disappointment.
"You're both my favourite people in the world. And Nemuri. And Hizashi, of course. I love all of you!" Oboro exclaimed and let go of me with a big grin. Shouta came over to me and pressed a small kiss to my forehead, taking my hand in his, as we started walking back towards our room.
"So I heard you caught a villain today, huh?" I asked them. Oboro's smile grew a little wider, while Shouta just rolled his eyes.
"Who told you that, huh?" he wanted to know.
"I met Kayama-senpai outside, she told me." I answered and saw Oboro grinning wider again.
"Kayama-senpai is the best, I bet she told you all the good stuff." Oboro said dreamily. I chuckled.
"Of course she did. So what happened? It was the guy that got away last time?" I wanted to know.
"Yeah, it was the same guy, but we got him this time." Oboro said proudly. Shouta looked a little nervous, rubbing the back of his head. Usually that was a good sign, so I was excited to hear how they managed to get past the smoke screen, since that was the thing that had given them trouble last time.
"How'd you do it?" I wanted to know.
"Tell her, Shou Shou!" Oboro said, almost sounding giddy. Shouta just rolled his eyes and pulled out a pair of goggles from beneath his scarf. I raised my eyebrows at them suspiciously, waiting for an explanation.
"Goggles? Really?" I asked.
"Yeah. That way the smoke didn't get into my eyes and I could still use my Quirk on him. Which gave Oboro a chance to attack." he replied. Huh. That was a simple solution to that problem.
"That's actually pretty genius. Wow." I said and then grinned. I looked up at Shouta, trying to give him the best pleading look I could muster. I wasn't really getting my hopes, but... it was worth a shot.
"Can you put them on for me? I wanna see how you look with them!" I said excitedly. Shouta sighed.
"No."
"Please!"
"No way."
"Aww, please Shou... you love me, don't you?" I replied, pouting a little. He rolled his eyes and sighed.
"Fine. If you're going to blackmail me like that." he said and put the goggles on. I looked over at him. They did kind of suit him, especially with the grumpy look he had now. He looked like he meant business.
"Shou, they look good on you. They're really cool!" I exclaimed, holding onto his shoulders and turning him around so he would face me. They did really suit him! Plus, protecting your eyes when you have an emitter type Quirk was pretty smart. Maybe I should get something like that myself.
"Yeah, I got them for him! I don't know how I got the idea, but I guess I'm just really smart sometimes." Oboro replied.
"You are. I should get some, too, I use my eyes for my Quirk, too..." I muttered. Maybe I could find some cool ones while I was on vacation with my parents... at least it would keep me occupied.
"Anyway, we caught him, all is good, now let's decide what we'll do with the rest of the evening. We'll definitely get some nice food somewhere, any preferences?" Shouta wanted to know.
"I'm good with anything." I just said. And I honestly was, all I wanted was to spend some quality time with my friends.
"Hey, you know what we should do? We should call up Hizashi and get him to join us for some sushi or something. And then we can go out in the city and all crash at our place!" Oboro suggested.
"Sounds terrible. Let's do it." Shouta just muttered.
