Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
"I already hate that we have to do extra training for the Sports Festival. In addition to detention. I mean, I know I'm gonna be out in the first round anyway, if it has anything to with physical activity. It's bull." I complained to Aizawa as we made our way into the school. Now that I knew he lived really close to me, I had just waited for him, so we could head to school together.
I mean I had more or less ingratiated myself into his walk to school, but he didn't seem to mind too much. He was just his indifferent self and didn't talk much, but I was enjoying the silence.
"If they make us run, I just won't do it. I'll drop out. I can barely move my legs after the training yesterday." Aizawa replied with a sigh. He seemed a little more tired than usual today.
"YO WATCH OUT NERDS!" someone shouted and slammed into Aizawa with full force who then slammed into me and made me lose my balance. Thank God, I managed to stay standing. We only saw the back of the guy who slammed into us as he ran away laughing loudly.
"Are you okay, Aizawa?" I asked, as he was rubbing his shoulder.
"I guess so." he replied.
"What a dick." I commented. Aizawa just shrugged, as if it didn't bother him too much. I honestly wasn't sure if he was incredibly good at hiding things or if it really didn't bother him much.
In that moment we heard a loud shriek that progressively got louder and louder. It came from around the corner and there was only one person with that kind of voice. That was Yamada screaming.
"Come on, we gotta help him. Those idiots have no clue that Yamada could easily burst their eardrums with his Quirk." Aizawa mumbled and started running towards the screams. I followed him, doing my best not to bump into students on the way. I could hear someone yell at us about no running in the hallways but I honestly couldn't care less. I would probably be in detention for the next three years anyway.
When we got around the corner we saw Yamada pinned against a locker with an older student hovering over him and grinning down at him. She had long, messy black hair and was wearing glasses. And she had definitely rolled up the skirt of her school uniform, there was no doubt about it.
"Yamada!" I shouted, while Aizawa was using his quirk to stop Yamada from screaming, before it got out of control. Yamada looked absolutely confused and even more terrified than before, while the girl pinning him against the locker didn't seem too happy about him not screaming anymore.
"Aw, tired out already? Too bad, I wouldn't have minded hearing those screams some more." she said to him, giving him a wink and letting go of him. She walked away with a self-satisfied grin on her face, bumping into me and Aizawa on the way. Yamada was coughing, as he got his voice back.
"Later, nerds!" the girl said and waved at us without turning around. What the actual fuck was that?
"Yamada, are you okay?" I asked while Aizawa and I made our way to him. Yamada took a few deep breaths before answering.
"I think I'm okay. Did you erase my quirk, Shouta?" he wanted to know.
"Yeah."
"Why?"
"Because your dumb ass would have gotten expelled on the spot if you had burst her eardrums, Yamada." Aizawa snapped at him.
"Yeah, that's probably true. Thanks, man." Yamada said, carefully feeling if his hair was still holding up okay.
"What did she even want?" I wanted to know.
"Just lunch money. I didn't have any on me anyway, I forgot it at home." Yamada replied with a grin.
"Oh, was that why she kept grilling you for that long?" I asked, glancing over at Aizawa who looked anything but happy.
"Yeah, I guess. And I think she enjoyed my screaming or something. She was really scary, man."
"God, I fucking hate this place." Aizawa blurted out suddenly. I hadn't seen him that angry before. He was pretty scary when he got angry. If I was a villain and he came at me like that, I'd make a run for it.
"Hey, hey, hey! Shouta, what's got your panties in a twist?" Shirakumo's voice suddenly came from behind us. I turned around and saw him floating in on his cloud, signature grin on his face, floating up next to Aizawa and putting an arm around his shoulders. Aizawa's facial expression went from angry to exasperated in a matter of seconds. It was quite amusing to watch.
"Don't." was all he said. Shirakumo laughed it off.
"Aw, come on, don't be like that! Where's my good morning kiss?" he asked jokingly and pretended to give Aizawa a kiss on the cheek.
"Oh my God, stop that! You're impossible, Oboro, seriously!" Aizawa protested, as he tried his best to push Shirakumo away from him. He couldn't stop himself from chuckling a little, however, and Aizawa's laugh was magical. He smiled so little and it was rare to hear him full on laughing. Actually, this was probably the first time I had heard his laugh and I couldn't even comprehend the ways it was making me feel. What a beautiful human being. He deserved to be laughing every second of the day.
"Isn't it pretty early for you, Oboro?" Yamada asked, which made the two of them stop and took me back to reality.
"Nah, I think I was about to just barely make it. But I guess, we're all late now." Shirakumo replied with a shrug. Yamada groaned and pinched the bridge of his nose. I started quickly tying my tie, which I had forgotten to do in the morning (and I honestly hated wearing a damn tie anyway).
"Right. We should get going. I guess you're wild on joining Shou and (L/N) in detention, huh?" Yamada said.
"I mean it would be fun, but no. Not really. I just get distracted in the mornings and then end up late. But I'm sure some teacher would have found something that'll get me detention anyway." he replied with a shrug.
"Exactly what about detention is fun?" Aizawa asked.
"I like hanging out with you, guys. Plus, it kinda makes you feel like a rebel, doesn't it? Detention is part of my aesthetics by now." Shirakumo replied. Aizawa rolled his eyes and shook his head. We had made it to our classroom and the hallways were now empty. Shirakumo confidently opened the door and walked in with a big smile on his face, nodding at the teacher.
"Morning, Sensei." he said and plopped down in his seat. The rest of us followed suit, mumbling a more apologetic 'good morning' to him. I felt the eyes of the entire class on me. I honestly had no idea how Shirakumo did this regularly. All I wanted right now was to turn invisible.
"And where did the four of you come from? I'm not surprised that you're late, Shirakumo. I'm not even surprised about Yamada. But Aizawa and (L/N)? I'm quite disappointed. What's your excuse for being late?" the teacher asked, once we had settled down in their seats. I felt my face heat up, this was so embarrassing. Why did he have to do this in front of everyone?
"Got caught up in something." Aizawa answered, looking to the side.
"You got caught up in something, huh? And you, (L/N)? Did you get caught up in something, too? Got caught up with Aizawa?" the teacher wanted to know. I felt myself blushing even more. What the hell was he trying to say?
"Am I going to get an answer out of you today or not?" he asked again. I felt terrible. I was put on the spot and I had just frozen, as I usually did. I had no idea what was going on and what I was supposed to say. I heard Hideko and Yuki chuckling behind me, I saw some others whispering.
"I... I..." I stammered, but my brain was blank.
"You what?" the teacher wanted to know.
"Leave her alone, it wasn't her fault she was late. She... she helped me get my locker open and then we met with Shirakumo on the way." Yamada chimed in. The teacher didn't even look at him.
"I wasn't talking to you, Yamada. You know what? I'm fed up with the four of you. A week's detention, all of you."
