Take your time, hurry up
Choice is yours, don't be late
It almost felt comforting to be back in detention. We had spent the entire summer without staying at school for an extra hour and I almost missed that extra time of hanging out with my friends. Plus, there was always peace and quiet in the classroom which made it so much easier to focus on doing any homework we had, which in turn meant that I had way less to do at home.
And it meant I got to hang out with Shouta during the break just before detention started. We were spending most of those breaks in our corner under the stairs, making out, not even caring about the hickeys we left on each other. The two of us dating was more of an open secret at this stage and neither of us cared much for what everyone else was thinking, anyway.
And especially at this time of the year, it was a total blessing to have extra study time. It meant less work for all four of us at the end of the year. Not like we all made good use of that, though. Shouta and I were pretty diligent about it, but Oboro got distracted and tired easily. And Hizashi just devoted all his time to planning that podcast he wanted to start at some point.
Shouta and I had made it to detention with five minutes to spare, so we slumped down in our seats, as Oboro turned around to us. He had a big grin on his face and nodded towards the other side of the classroom.
"Someone's glaring daggers at you two." he said. I raised an eyebrow and looked back, seeing Yuki give me a deathly glare.
"She needs to chill out. Honestly, I don't know what her problem is." I muttered. I was losing my patience with Yuki at this point. It was getting more and more ridiculous every day how she apparently hated me for hanging out with the wrong people. Most other people were getting tired of her bullshit, too.
"She's angry we didn't win the match in joint training. She was a nightmare to work with." Shouta replied.
"Oh yeah, wasn't she blaming you for losing?" Hizashi suddenly said - way too loud - and turned around.
"If you have to talk shit about me, at least do it quietly!" Yuki shouted at us. I rolled my eyes at that.
"She's just salty she lost in front of Sensoji." I told them. Oboro's grin grew wider and he gave me an amused look.
"NO WAY. She's into Sensoji? Of all people?" he squealed. Hizashi just nodded in agreement.
"Yeah, what's up with her taste?" he asked.
"I have no fucking clue. She thought that Shou was a horrible person upon just seeing him the first time." I commented. I felt a little bad about talking about my friend that way, but honestly? She had brought this on herself. I had tried to be nice to her and she didn't want to hear it.
"Well, I get how she'd arrive at that conclusion with Power Saver Shou." Hizashi joked with a big grin on his face.
"Power Saver Shou? Seriously?" Shouta asked, apparently not really fond of the nickname. It was pretty fitting, though, especially with how much Shouta was napping all the time, even in class sometimes.
"It's not inaccurate, Shou-Shou." Oboro commented, laughing, while Shouta was giving him an annoyed look.
"Would you like a different one? P.O.S.?" Hizashi suggested.
"Piece of Shit?" Shouta asked and raised an eyebrow. Hizashi and Oboro burst out laughing loudly.
"Prince of Slumberland. Because that's what you are!" Hizashi replied, howling with laughter. I had to admit that one was pretty good.
"I kinda like that one." I admitted. Hizashi giggled.
"How about Snooze Master?" he suggested next, almost toppling over with laughter. I could hear Yuki scoffing from the back.
"How about none of those?" Shouta replied. He was getting really annoyed with Hizashi, it was palpable.
"Aw, come on, Shou. We're just having some fun." Oboro said to him and leaned over his desk to ruffle his hair.
"Yeah, don't be grumpy, Shou." I agreed with them and grinned at him. He glanced over at me, a look of betrayal on his face. But it quickly softened when I continued to give him my best smile.
"What do I get for not being grumpy?" he wanted to know. I smiled at him and got up from my chair. It looked like the teacher for detention was going to be late, anyway. I stood in front of his desk, leaning over until my face was close to his. Of course he kept his poker face, even when our lips were almost touching.
"How the hell do you keep a straight face like that, Shouta? Teach me your secrets!" Oboro exclaimed. I chuckled, when I heard that and Shouta leaned forward a little, pulling me into a long kiss.
"YEAH!" Hizashi yelled. Shouta let go of me and quickly turned around to cancel out his Quirk.
"Damn it, Zashi, one day you're gonna kill us all!" Shouta sternly told him. Hizashi gave us an apologetic look.
"Oh my God, I can't believe I have to hang with the freak brigade." we suddenly heard a voice from the door. I got up, pretty conscious about basically bending over the desk to smooch Shouta.
The voice had belonged to Sensoji who was standing in the door, giving all of us annoyed glances. I checked the time on the clock that was hanging just over the door. He had apparently made it at the last minute. I quickly walked back to my own desk and sat down, still staring at Sensoji.
"What are you doing in detention? Aren't you U.A.'s Golden Boy?" Oboro asked sarcastically and with a big smile on his face.
"I think you losers know why I got detention." he just muttered and made his way into the classroom.
"Wait, wait, wait, are you telling us that you got detention for helping Watanabe beat up Shou and (F/N)? Fucking wild, it's about time." Hizashi commented, putting on the terrible sunglasses he had gotten himself earlier in the week. He thought they were fly and they did kinda suit him in a wacky way.
"It's your fault I'm here and I'm gonna make sure you're aware of that as soon as my detention's over, you hear me?" he said in a low tone. I could feel the panic rise in my chest again. Was he actually going to do something? Was he going to continue this after his detention?
"Our fault? Last time I checked, it was Watanabe who gave me that bruise!" I said to him and pointed at my cheek. I couldn't believe that he was trying to blame us for the detention he had gotten himself into.
"What's going on in here? Detention has started two minutes ago, you should all be in your seats. Come on, Sensoji, everyone here knows how to sit at their desks, I'm sure you can handle it, too." we heard our teacher's voice as he entered the classroom, quickly shutting the door behind him.
