Everything's in order in a black hole

Nothing seems as pretty as the past though

"Hey, problem child."

I lifted up my head which had been resting on my desk. I had managed to get into school early and I had been resting my head on the desk ever since I got to the classroom, listening to the rest of the students pour into the class, talking to each other about what they had done while we were all off school, while I was thinking about how annoying it was that I had to stay at home, because I was grounded.

"Hi Shouta." I replied with a smile, as he sat down at the desk next to me. I had told him everything about me getting grounded while he was telling me how I could have pulled it off in a smarter way.

"You alright?" he asked.

"Yeah. The last few days have been kind of depressing, but I'm glad to be back at school. At least I can hang out with you during the breaks, even though I'm grounded." I answered. It was only for two weeks. Well, really only a week and a half at this point, so it wouldn't be that bad, right?

In that moment Oboro and Hizashi bolted into the room, quickly sitting down at their desks, just before our homeroom teacher walked into the class with a bunch of small whiteboards and markers.

"Good morning, everyone. Nice to see we all made it on time." he said with a glance to Oboro and Hizashi who were both grinning in sync. I exchanged glances with Shouta and we both started laughing quietly.

"Today we'll be doing something fun. You're all aware that you'll be doing internships next week and I have the offers here and the list of recommended agencies for those who did not get any offers. I'll be handing those out during the class. While I do this, you'll be thinking of a hero name for yourselves. We'll take turns presenting them at the end of the class, so try and come up with something good." our teacher said. There were excited whispers throughout the class.

I had always imagined coming up with a hero name was the coolest thing ever, but right now there were a million things I'd rather be doing. Like catching up with my friends, having some more breakfast, sleeping another hour. And presenting in front of the class? Hell no. I hated presenting anything in front of other people.

The teacher was going through the rows of desks and handed each of us a whiteboard, a marker and some papers for our internships. We had two days to decide where we wanted to go with that, but I figured I'd look at that at some later point. Now I had to come up with a hero name.

I looked over at Shouta who was staring down at the whiteboard, as if he was trying to make a name appear on it, simply by frightening the board enough. He wasn't too successful with that strategy. I leaned over to the side, tugging at his school blazer gently. He turned around, still glaring.

"Hey, Shouta, do you have any idea for your hero name? I'm stumped." I whispered. He sighed and shook his head.

"What? You haven't decided on a hero name yet?" Hizashi asked in a shocked voice, turning around to us.

"I don't want to be in the news, so I don't care what name I have." Shouta mumbled, staring at his whiteboard again.

"Alright then! You'll be Eraserhead!" Hizashi shouted. I glanced over at the teacher who shot us an angry glare but was still busy handing out papers and whiteboards. I looked back to Shouta who just shrugged.

"I'll go with that, then." he said and scribbled Eraserhead down onto the whiteboard. I looked over at Hizashi who was already leaning back with a big grin on your face. Had he already picked a name?

"Yo, Hizashi. Hizashi!" I whispered. I was still completely clueless as to what I wanted my hero name to be.

"What's up, (F/N)?" he asked.

"What's your name gonna be?" I wanted to know. He just grinned at me.

"That's for everyone to find out later." he just said. I sighed and rolled my eyes. I really had to come up with something. Something related to my quirk. What had something to do with my quirk?

Illusions... illusions... what were synonyms for illusions? Fantasies? Deceptions? Hallucinations? Hallucination Girl would sound pretty badass, but I felt like I'd regret that name later on in my life. I remembered reading about the word Simulacrum at some point and it did sound really cool, but I wasn't sure about it. How many people had even heard of that word before?

That's when it struck me. I knew exactly what my name had to be and it would be really damn cool. With a giddy smile, I quickly jotted down the name I had thought of. This was going to be good. And since half of the lesson was almost over, it seemed like I had thought of something just in time.

"Is everyone ready?" our homeroom teacher said from the front of the room. Most of the students dropped their pens and looked up at him as he let his eyes wander over the students.

"Who wants to go first?" he asked. Without saying a word Hizashi stood up and walked up to the front, a big grin on his face. The teacher gave him a surprised look, but then nodded calmly.

"Alright. Yamada. Let's hear it." he said. Yamada grinned and dramatically spun the whiteboard. Of course he had to make a damn show of it.

"Okay, ladies and gentlemen, let me hear you give it up for VOICE HERO PRESENT MIC!" Hizashi shouted. Oboro started cheering. He was the only one who did that, however. Shouta just shook his head quietly.

"Okay. I like it. It's catchy. And I admire your enthusiasm, I just wish you were as enthusiastic about your grades, Yamada. How about we hear the rest of the detention gang, huh? Come on, Aizawa. We don't have all day."

Hizashi sat back down, as Shouta stood up with a sigh. Seeing him walk up there, I just knew he did not want to do this. At all. He showed what he wrote on the whiteboard to his class.

"Erasure Hero: Eraserhead." was all he said. Oboro clapped twice, before Shouta shut him down with a death glare.

"A little plain maybe, but if you wanna go with that, that's your decision." the teacher said and Shouta quickly returned to his seat. Oboro was grinning at the teacher who sighed and just gestured for him to get up in front of the class and get it over with.

"I'm gonna be Loud Cloud!" Oboro announced proudly and with the biggest and toothiest grin I had ever seen on him. I could see how he would like the sound of that name. It was very much Oboro.

"Alright, it has a nice ring to it, I'll give you that. Well, don't look at me like that, (L/N), everyone has to get up. Come on, get it over with." our teacher said, his eyes on me now. I gulped.

I slowly got up and walked up to the front of the class. I stood behind the podium and looked over the class. They were all looking at me and it was dead quiet. You could hear a needle drop in that classroom. I quickly cleared my throat and almost choked in the process. I glanced over at Shouta, Hizashi and Oboro, who was giving me a small thumbs up. I smiled a little.

"I went with Illusion Hero: Mirage." I said to the class. There were a few nods from some of my classmates. I saw Yuki scoffing and rolling her eyes, while Oboro and Hizashi were nodding enthusiastically and giving me thumbs up, beaming all over their face. Even Shouta smiled a little at me.

"Very nice. Good choice. The four of you got pretty creative with those names, huh? Well, let's hear everyone else's. Come on up Oyama." the teacher replied. I let out the breath I had held in and made my way back to my desk. It was over and it hadn't gone too badly. Thank God.
