It only hurts when I laugh
Gone too fast
I took a deep breath as I was standing in front of my homeroom teacher's office. This was scary as hell. I didn't think it would be difficult at all, after all I knew that I was right. But it still seemed like such a difficult thing to do.
With another deep breath I knocked on the door. I hoped this would go by quickly, because Hideko and Yuki had said they'd wait for me in front of the school. Of course, only Hideko knew what I was going to do. Yuki probably wouldn't get it. I mean, she was my friend, but she was really judgmental at times.
"Come in." I heard the teacher's voice from inside. I slowly opened the door and stuck my head inside.
"Oh, (L/N). What's up?" he asked, a friendly smile on his face. It was disgusting how nice he was right now when he had been such a dick to Aizawa earlier. It didn't make sense to me.
"Uhm... can I talk to you for a minute, Sir?" I wanted to know. He gave me a quizzical look and then nodded.
"Sure, come on in. What's on your mind?" he replied and put away his papers. I stepped inside and closed the door behind me. I sat down in one of the chairs at his desk and cradled my backpack in my arms.
"Uh, this is about Aizawa, Sir." I started. His smile faded and he suddenly looked quite annoyed.
"What has he done now?" he asked with a sigh. I raised an eyebrow and quickly shook my head.
"Oh, no, no, no, he hasn't done anything, Sir!" I answered quickly. Shit, what if I ended up getting him in even more trouble? Maybe I should have thought about this before I turned up here.
"Then what is it?" he wanted to know.
"I, uh... I saw what happened in the cafeteria and... well, those four guys were lying." I told him. He gave me a long and hard look, as if he didn't believe me. Chances were, he wouldn't. I should have listened to Hideko when she told me it wouldn't change anything if I talked to him.
"So you're saying that Aizawa didn't use his quirk on other students without permission?" he asked sharply.
"No, that's not what I was trying to say-"
"Then what is it?"
"Well, they... they were bullying him! They were shoving him into the table and he turned around while his quirk was activated. They were beating him and everything after that! Aizawa used his quirk, but if he's getting punished, those four other guys should get punished, too!" I said.
"Now, now, now. Don't get ahead of yourself. Aizawa is getting detention and that's the end of that. He looked alright to me when I got there. Plus, he didn't say anything about it." the teacher answered. I sat there looking at him with an open mouth. I was stunned. I couldn't believe he had just said that.
"They were threatening him! Of course, he wouldn't say anything to you with them right in front of him. And you kept interrupting him when he was trying to talk!" I replied. This was incredible.
"That's enough, (L/N)! What's with that attitude, huh? Did Aizawa put you up to this?" he asked.
"What?"
"Did Aizawa put you up to this? Asked you to come in here and tell me some fake story so he gets out of detention? You got a little crush on Aizawa?"
"...what?" I asked again. This was ridiculous. Was he saying that I was lying? That I was lying for Aizawa, because we were such good friends? I barely even talked to that dude! What the hell did this guy think?
"You heard me. Now, Aizawa did use his quirk on another student - four other students, to be exact - without permission. That kinda stuff gets you detention and he'll go to his detention. End of story. Was there anything else you wanted to talk about?" the teacher answered and put on a fake smile.
It took me a while to process what he just had said. Hideko was right. Me coming here wouldn't change anything. Our homeroom teacher had just decided he didn't like Aizawa, it seemed.
"That's fucking bullshit." I mumbled incredulously.
"What's with that language, (L/N)? You wanna join Aizawa in detention now, is that it?" the teacher asked. I laughed dryly.
"As if I'd fucking care at this point." I answered. His face got darker and he gave me a frown. He sighed and scribbled something into his notebook.
"Okay, fine. Detention for you, starting next week on Monday. Now is there anything else?" he asked. I sighed and shook my head, taking my backpack and walking towards the door. The teacher was shaking his head at me.
"See you in class tomorrow, teach." I said to him, before closing the door. I was really fucking angry right now. What the hell was wrong with him? He wouldn't believe me one bit. I doubted he was even listening to me. This was all bullshit.
